Hi, just posting for future references of the group. Just got back from Taipei, I got a single entry tourist visa.
I knew it was difficult in Taipei so I went prepared. I already had a Non-immigrant type O (my wife is studying in Thailand) and another single entry TV (from Vientiane) in my passport. I took everything I could think of to “support my case” and I’m glad I did. I had to show copies of my wife’s student ID, her passport, her visa, our marriage certificate translated into English, printed ticket out of Thailand, ticket INTO Thailand and I was able to explain my story. The officer analyzed everything for 15 minutes and then told me to pay. I went in the morning and I had to pick it up the next day between 16:00 and 17:00 (I was the only non Taiwanese that day).
It was done at the Thailand Trade and Economic Office and the visa doesn’t say anything about Macau (I had read that this office is under Macau’s Embassy).
When entering BKK at Dom Mueang I was not asked for anything else (when I came back from Vientiane I was asked for a copy of my ticket out of Thailand).
Feel free to ask, maybe I can answer.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience obtaining a single entry tourist visa for Thailand at the Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taipei. They prepared thoroughly by collecting documentation including their wife's student ID and marriage certificate. After submitting their application and supporting documents, they were informed it would be ready the next day and encountered no additional questions upon their return to Bangkok.
