Hi, does anyone know how to get thai baht or USD in Laos, in other way than withdraw from ATM and exchange? I just dont want to exchange twice.

At the Nong Khai border, Laos side arrivals, there are a few currency exchange places.

There’s an exchange store right across from the Thai embassy in Vientiane. I needed THB to pay for a visa at the embassy, they exchanged USD to THB for me. Don’t think I got an excellent exchange rate, but it solved my immediate problem.
