Receive deposit back without bank account

Hi all. I've been using Wise for paying rent, deposit and such but Thailand is not supported as an account with acc number to receive money transferred from others.

So as my rental contract is ending, Im curious what are the options to receive back my deposit besides in cash (just in case) when I don't have a TL bank account (couldnt open)? If u have experienced this before please let me know.

Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you're in Thailand and need to receive your rental deposit back without a local bank account, there are several options you can consider. Many users have successfully received their deposits in cash directly from their landlords. This is a straightforward method that has worked for others who faced similar situations. Alternatively, you can request an international bank transfer to your Wise account, which provides its users with account numbers that can be used for such transactions, though you may need to cover the transfer fees. Some have also suggested using services like Western Union or TrueMoney as potential methods for transferring funds.

Ask for cash or an international bank transfer to your wise account number. Minus the fee he will pay.

I had this conversation with my landlord last month. Next month I'm moving out and my lease is ending and I asked for cash because I don't have a thai account anymore. They said no problem. I was a little worried at first because my deposit was 100K and that's a lot of cash.

Ask your landlord before signing the contract to get it cash or even better ask to have this added to your contract.

I simply asked my landlord if he could return the deposit in cash, as I didn't have a bank account as well. Wasn't a problem at all.
