Slightly off topic but a segment off requirements for a long term extension. I am UK based passport bank account etc. For transferring the required sums I have hit a brick wall with my bank. They do not send money to Thailand. I am looking for recommendations for a 3rd party way, any recommendations from people in the same situation would be very much appreciated

Wise is by far the best as everyone says. Just bear in mind if you use Bangkok bank then wise to them can take anything from literally seconds to 48 hours. Only Bangkok bank you won't have the same issue with kasikorn or scb.

If youre in the uk you can set up wise and have the debit card also. Once you've done it then any future replacement cards etc can be sent directly to Thailand no problem

Sure you are with a proper bank? The mainstream banks should all be able to transfer money. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Iโ€™ve used Revolut for transferring funds from Uk to thailand for years, rates are decent and generally better than transferring direct from my Uk bank, never any issue with transferring

Wise of course. Always Wise. You'll get 99% of recommendations for Wise.

Revolut is also an option for UK.
