Hi all , apparently now we have to apply online for an invite to apply for a single entry 60 days tourism visa, don’t send your payment, passport and form until you are invited, from Oz Update, apply online to receive invite you’ll need all your info ready and you have to upload pics in pdf or jpg

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent changes to the application process for a single-entry 60-day tourism visa to Thailand require travelers to first apply online for an invitation to apply before sending in their passport and payment. This update has been confirmed by users who have navigated the process recently, and they advise having all necessary information and documentation (including photos) ready for upload in formats like PDF or JPG. Travelers are also discussing whether to opt for a 30-day visa on arrival instead, noting possible extensions and past experiences with the application process at Thai consulates.

I actually walked in to the thai consulate in Macquarie St Sydney 6 weeks ago got a visa application form for visa filled out all requirements on the form took it back 3 weeks ago prior to my departure from Sydney and was told by the same lady that handed me the paperwork that they can proceed it now you need to apply online now and will take approximately 10 days which baffled me for a second or 2 so didn't bother got on the plane now iam here will apply for extension at one of immigration offices didn't plan on visiting veitnam but I will now and come back on visa exempt again for another 30 days easy not hard

ok not sure that makes any difference but we are dealing thailand and every one of my 23 trips here not one day is the same they change their mind over night that was just my experience with the sydney thai consulate prior to this trip I've used the same process 8 times now but this time it change online application only like I said I didn't bother with that process iam here now and loving it will workout other options for extended stay

Why don't just go for the 30 day on arrival and then extend here?

Yes this has been a thing for a while, you can apply for a 60 or 90 day visa, submit your info via the consulate website and they will email you back to send in your passport and payment for processing. I recently went through this myself. AusPost is the weakest link in this process!

you obviously didn't scroll or read the links. There is a link that says "Click > Download Visa Application form". Download, print, scan, attach to the second link "Apply your Visa Online".

you have always if applying to the Sydney consult, had to apply online and wait for them to approve and and receive an email, saying send your stuff lol If you follow the instructions there should be no problem. The visa itself is a invite to visit Thailand. This is nothing new.

last year I just posted it , no problem, so new to me

maybe you posted to Canberra embassy but Sydney consultant its been like that for years. Nothing new, the reason you got it all sent back is you didn't do it online like they ask. Like I said follow the instructions and you will be fine.
