TLDR : Answer Summary
The question about whether it's necessary to book 2 weeks of accommodation in Hanoi when applying for the DTV visa received various responses. Most comments indicated that the duration of accommodation booked is flexible, with suggestions ranging from 7 to 12 days being sufficient. The primary concern noted was to ensure that the applicant remains in the area until the visa processing is complete. It's also mentioned that the Thai embassy and consulate in Vietnam process visas relatively quickly, making a longer booking unnecessary. Overall, for the purpose of the application, a shorter booking seems acceptable as long as it can demonstrate the applicant's location.

What are you talking about ?

The Thai embassy and consulate in Vietnam process visas quite fast. The announced general processing time in Ho Chi Minh City is five working days and in Hanoi, it's only 1-3 working days.

For the application it doesn't matter but you do need to remain in the area until visa processing completes

No it doesn't matter for the application, other than the fact that you may use the booking to prove your location.
