any dividend investors in the US stock market successfully got their DTV visa? specially if you don't keep much money in the bank but only transferred the 500k Thai Bhat amount to "qualify for proof of funds in bank"? appreciate if you can give me feedback on how it worked for you and which category you applied under, and if they scrutinized a fresh large transfer coming into bank or not or didn't care as long as it was there and "recent date"? asking for Thai consulates in USA only, particularly the Los Angeles one. thanks!
Hello. I am applying for DTV in Los Angeles and it asks for a proof that I am currently in the country I am residing. However, I live at a family member's house right now so my name is not on a lease. I am already submitting bank statements so it seems redundant to try and use that as a proof of my location. I have a driver's license from California but it feels like that is not much proof.
It gives examples of visa, proof of payment of airline tickets, and accommodation. Would it be valid to show my most recent airline ticket into the USA a few months ago? Any other ideas of a document that would be worthwhile to prove I am in the USA?
To all DTV E–Visa applicants in the Western region of USA (consular jurisdiction of the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles):
the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles has Updated their DTV E–Visa Financial Requirements as of December 3, 2025:
it is Now = USD $17,000.- Dollars, unlike at the Thai Embassy in DC or the Thai Consulates in Chicago or New York, where it is still USD $16,000.- Dollars
Hi everyone I’m interested in getting a destination travel visa but I’m curious to know if anyone has experience with the Los Angeles thai consulate in regards to how long the 500,000 THB needs to be in the bank for. Thank you :)

I wasn’t asked for proof of accommodation, but I had it ready just in case
A huge thank you to this group, especially those who shared their processing times. It really helped me set realistic expectations. I did not include any other documentation or cover letter for the Soft Power DTV. Hopefully this helps the next person applying out of L.A. Thank you. ✨️
Sharing my timeline in case it helps anyone currently waiting:
• Submitted: May 22
• Document Request (photo): May 30
• Status changed to “Pending Approval”: June 4
• Approved: June 11 ✅
• Applied at: Los Angeles Thai Consulate
📌 Side Note: I had been checking the portal daily with no change, but on June 11 I decided to send a polite email asking for a status update—and it was approved later that same day. Not saying it’s guaranteed, but it definitely felt like it helped move things along.
If you’re waiting and it’s been a while, a gentle follow-up email might be worth a shot.
Wishing smooth approvals to everyone still in the queue! 🙏🏽💻✈️
Applied March 6th. Submitted further documents March 25th. Have not heard back since. It is now April 14th 2025
I applied for the DTV Soft Power on May 6th with all required documents and triple checked all information was submitted correctly word for word.
13 days later (March 25th) I get an email asking to submit a bank statement requiring a MINIMUM of $17,000 USD, with my name clearly printed and it cannot be an investent profile. My name was CLEARLY PRINTED on my bank statement, it is a statement from a SAVINGS/ CHECKING ACCOUNT with my BANK which also has the banks name and address cleary printed on it. I submitted the statement with $15,300 USD AS THE E-VISA WEBSITE and every other resource available online stated the requirement was a minimim of $15,000. I could have submitted the statement with $17,000+ the first time if thats what made clear anywhere but it wasnt.
I resubmitted a new bank statement with $17,500 1 day of recieving that further documents requested email (March 27) and ever since status has been in "Processing Document Check (1) ". I underatand as of now it Songkran in Thailand, but that document was sumbitted way prior to the holiday.
I also submitted the documents for my finacé's DTV SoftPower on April 4th 2025 with all the same required documents except I made sure her bank statement has well over $17,000 USD. We applidd to the same consulate as me. Her status has been "Pending Payment" ever since. Its been 6 business days and no status change.
I'll continue my patience but wrote this out slight confusion & frustration.
