I could really use some help on understanding the DTV visa as I’m currently confused on what is right and what is wrong.
I initially messaged a school and told them I wanted to learn Thai with the school. I said I wanted to apply for the education visa route.
A teacher at the school called me back shortly after I messaged the school and he told me that the DTV was a better visa to apply for. He explained the school would charge me 30,000 THB for the required documents plus charge me 25,000 THB for 6 months of the school.
I was not aware learning Thai could count for the DTV visa which is why I didn’t even bring it up. However, I am keenly aware that the DTV visa is absolutely better in every way and I would be over the moon if I could get it. I meet all the criteria for a DTV visa. I’m just not sure if learning Thai counts.
The teacher explained that if I am rejected for the DTV he will have me apply for the education visa instead.
AI initially told me learning Thai DOES apply under the soft power umbrella for the DTV visa but I asked it again today and it said it does not apply. Not sure what is accurate anymore.
Another question about applying for a soft power DTV to study Thai language. In the Los Angeles consulate website, the only ED visa offered is for 90 days max. [members only]
But the DTV does not list Thai language-learning among the purposes.
So how are you supposed to apply for a 9- or 12-month language course?
I might sound like a broken record but please bear with me. So this is what we have decided:
1. Will register both of us for a 3.months Thai language class with a reputable institute here in Chiang Mai ..
2. I will have 500k before applying for dtv by Xmas time but not much months before that, instead I have money more than what is needed in my investment account
3. Hubby will be ok since he has all the money😀
Questions:
1. Can I apply using that 500k in Bkk bank and supported by my investment account?
2. Is it better or safer just to be a dependent and apply after hubby gets approved?
Thank you all for your patience and kind responses..
Hello I am looking for recommendations for a language school in Pattaya to learn to speak Thai. Most of the schools I have researched are only twice a week for 2 hours each class. Does anyone know of a school I can attend 4 to 5 days a week? That is a quality school and not a visa mill, thank you
I need your help. About Thai education visa. I am holder of education visa, initial 90 days and school terminated it with today date ( because I wrote 3* review). What's are my options? When I need to go to immigration? How long I have to leave country? Can I start study in different school?
Do you have recommendation for Thai language school in some smaller city in isaan or north Thailand?
Currently I am In chiang mai, but I don't like this city.
