LOS ANGELES THAI CONSULATE:

Applied March 6th. Submitted further documents March 25th. Have not heard back since. It is now April 14th 2025

I applied for the DTV Soft Power on May 6th with all required documents and triple checked all information was submitted correctly word for word.

13 days later (March 25th) I get an email asking to submit a bank statement requiring a MINIMUM of $17,000 USD, with my name clearly printed and it cannot be an investent profile. My name was CLEARLY PRINTED on my bank statement, it is a statement from a SAVINGS/ CHECKING ACCOUNT with my BANK which also has the banks name and address cleary printed on it. I submitted the statement with $15,300 USD AS THE E-VISA WEBSITE and every other resource available online stated the requirement was a minimim of $15,000. I could have submitted the statement with $17,000+ the first time if thats what made clear anywhere but it wasnt.

I resubmitted a new bank statement with $17,500 1 day of recieving that further documents requested email (March 27) and ever since status has been in "Processing Document Check (1) ". I underatand as of now it Songkran in Thailand, but that document was sumbitted way prior to the holiday.

I also submitted the documents for my finacé's DTV SoftPower on April 4th 2025 with all the same required documents except I made sure her bank statement has well over $17,000 USD. We applidd to the same consulate as me. Her status has been "Pending Payment" ever since. Its been 6 business days and no status change.

I'll continue my patience but wrote this out slight confusion & frustration.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their frustration regarding delays in obtaining a DTV Soft Power visa from the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles. They applied for the visa, submitted required documents including evidence of sufficient funds in their bank statements, but faced inquiries for additional documentation. After resubmitting the necessary papers, their status has remained in "Processing Document Check" for an extended period. Meanwhile, their fiancé's application appeared stuck pending payment. Community comments highlighted potential reasons for the delays, such as payment processing failures, the impact of holiday schedules, and other applicants’ experiences, adding to the user's confusion regarding the consulate's requirements.

The Los Angeles consult actually answers the phone once in awhile, as opposed to NY where the automated system just hangs up on you. Try calling right before they close, when they’ve finished most of their stuff for the day

Songkran na, please be patient krub

It’s the payment. They haven’t received it.

I applied to Los Angeles and it only took me five days. I thought they were very fast. Maybe it has something to do with Songkron I don’t know, but I think it will surprise you and come soon. Good luck.

If you look at past posts here, you will see that LA has always required 17,000.

wish I found this information sooner. I probably would have a one time shot if I did. But I suppose further required documents are better than a flat out denial

Took 30 days total for me to get mine from the LA consulate. They requested more docs for me on day 14 and I didn't get approved until 16 days later.

Payment should be instant. So as other people said probably didn’t go through.

If you have to resubmit anything it basically puts you at the bottom of the stack, also any Thai and US holidays and weekends they don’t do anything. Which can put you weeks to months out. There’s no phone or anything all you can do is email. There is a Line but they aren’t “Visa officers”

LA for some odd reason requires 17,000 USD and they haven’t updated their website that says 16,000. Thailand itself only requires 15,000. So verdict is out why LA thinks they should make it 17k for literally 0 reason.

i appreciate your response. This definitely helps out a lot. I had a feeling after resubmitting documents I may be bumped down the list but was not sure after reading that some people would hear back within either the same day, or a few days following their resubmissions. Im assuming I would have had a clear, one time shot if I had submitted a bank statement of at least $17k the first time. I just haddnt' come across that requirement during my research

Yeah, that 17k isn’t posted anywhere. Not even on their website. I was surprised too and have no idea what they are doing. I did the same thing and resubmitted stuff in 15-20 min the same day they told me I needed 17k it took them 23 business days after their website says 5 business days for resubmission. It could be due to the holiday they are short staffed and people on vacation but it’s stressful for sure.

Many embassies reset the clock when you supply additional information.

Sounds like payment for your girlfriend has failed for some reason, check the relevant payment account and see if payment has been taken, if not try another payment method

I tried this. They told me to contact the consulate directly. So I emailed. It takes them a long time to respond to emails. I actually got my DTV, and then like 6 days later I got a reply to my initial email inquiry 2 weeks prior 🤣
Christopher ********
Anonymous participant 935 the consulate has their own line ID

Anonymous participant 935 did you email them ? I resent my letter via line and then they approved the visa.

Pending payment - looks like it was not paid or payment failed. So you should retry
