update 12/12

I spoke to the honorary consulate in Boston, they do process SE Tourist Visas and Non-immigrant B visas. It can be done same day as you meet directly with the consular officer and you have to make an appointment. However the documents must all be submitted in English (my Thai employer has all the docs in Thai). Only LA and NY (and possibly DC) process documents in Thai.

For expediting services at the LA consulate I ended up going with: www.unitedpvs.com

thanks to everyone, it quelled the panic

update follow up q:

Is it possible to apply for non immigrant B visa at the Thai Consulate in Boston?

tl;dr:

Can anyone recommend a service to expedite a non-immigrant B visa for a US citizen at the Thai consulate in LA?

I will be employed at a University here in CNX and need to apply for a non immigrant B work visa from the LA consulate. I will be traveling in the US Dec. 19-29th and need to receive my passport back within that narrow time frame.

I browsed the search bar but couldn't find anything relevant, so appreciate your guidance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on expediting a Non-Immigrant B visa application at the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles while traveling in the U.S. They also mention that the Honorary Consulate in Boston does handle SE Tourist Visas and Non-Immigrant B visas, but require documents to be submitted in English. Several commenters share their experiences with processing times and recommend contacting the LA consulate directly or visiting in person with all required documents to potentially speed up the process.

Go in person and with all required documents

I weighed the cost-benefit to waiting for turn around, and flew to LA for same day processing (of SETV, not sure if B takes longer). Of course, cost over the holidays might outweigh benefit but I'm a big fan of going in person if time is f the essence.

I think that boston consulate is just an Honorary Consulate. BUT they should be able to issue a 90 day single-entry Non-B.

Email them and see what they say.

. I did email Boston already and will call them during their business hours.

The letter I have from my workplace is addressed to the LA consulate though, do you know of anyone who has had success with applying through a consulate different from the letter's addressee?

A friend in California uses this service

I have NO idea if they're good or not..

Have you tried contacting the Consulate in LA? They have same day service for certain types of visas, not sure about Non B. They were very helpful when I called and emailed them to tell me the process and also when it had been submitted (my mail) how long it would take.

Bernard is the guy I worked with too! :-) Okay, yes I can imagine it is a busy time.

I did contact them and spoke with Bernard. He is the one who told me that as it is a busy time, it would take two weeks. I explained that my husband had it done (without a service) in a few days, and he reiterated that it was due to the timing.

I'd say meet these requirements and you won't have a problem.

You also have to take into consideration holidays in the US during your time there too. The thai consulate will be closed.

The up side is they have only a two day processing for walk in service meaning you drop off your passport and documentation one day and pick it up the next.

Here're the requirements;

I'd say google is your friend as far as that..

That consulate isn't hard to deal with IF you have all the required documentation. All an "agent" there could do would be turn in your documentation for you and wait for your passport.

@Barrak *******
you are correct mailing in has a two week turn around.

Ive tried googling and get a bunch of options so it's unclear which is best, hence posting on the group.

When I called the consulate they said it would be a two week turn around for mailing it in, as I won't be in Los Angeles
