TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation centers around experiences applying for the DTV visa through the Thai consulate in Los Angeles. Several users shared their timelines: one reported a process of about 5 weeks total, including additional documentation requests, while another mentioned a quicker approval in 2 weeks without additional requests. Commonly required documents included proof of funds, bank statements, and the bio page of the passport. Mentioned processing times align closely with the consulate's stated timeframe of 15 business days.

I did. I think it took about 2 weeks. I did soft power, muay thai. Didn't request anything additional. It was pretty easy and straight forward.

We just got ours approved through LA. Took about 3weeks then requested additional documents, then another 2 weeks. 3 weeks for dependent visas after that. It was stressful but only because of the waiting. $17k required funds, $400 per application, 3 months of bank statements, and just bio page of passport. We used the bank statements as proof of location as well as proof of funds.

Hope this helps

They seem to take EXACTLY as long as their posted processing time <- which is 15 BUSINESS days (not counting holidays and weekends)

AND

They usually wait to ask you to send every page of your passport (blank pages too) to them to check you are still in the US and haven't bailed back to thailand.

For what purpose for the DTV visa are you planning to apply for?

Workcation?

Soft Power activity?

Which activity?

Which State are you now in...in the US?

I did when it was first announced. Took about a month, but got it approved on my first try. 👍

Timeframes may be shorter now. Not sure.
