TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a US Green Card holder holding a Pakistani passport, is currently in Pakistan and plans to visit Thailand. They have submitted their US bank statement for a Thai visa application, but the authorities are requesting three months of Pakistani bank statements, which they do not possess. The user inquires about how to address this issue, especially regarding the same requirements for their wife, whom they sponsored. Comments from the community suggest submitting a cover letter explaining the absence of the Pakistani bank statements and question the need for a DTV visa given their circumstances.

WHY do you need to get the DTV visa?

Are you planning on moving your family from Pakistan to live in Thailand?

As you are a US Green Card holder, why risk losing it ? You're limited to trips outside of the USA.

Potential Issues:

While Green Card holders can travel, they may face issues if they stay outside the US for extended periods without proper documentation or if they have engaged in activities that suggest they have abandoned their permanent resident status.

For what purpose are you planning to apply for the DTV visa?

Workcation?

Soft Power activity?

You say that they also want documents for your wife.

Is she making her own application for the DTV with a Soft Power activity?

Workcation?

As you can't sponsor her as your spouse until you have your DTV Visa.

For just visiting Thailand you don't need a DTV.

Without more info about your situation and what are your travel plans it is difficult to give a good advice.

I don't think a green card is relevant unless you apply in the US. As far as the embassy is concerned you are from where your passport says you are from. You can try submitting your US statements again along with a covering letter explaining your situation and see if they accept that

Anonymous participant I am a Myanmar citizen and residing in Malaysia. I provided Malaysia Bank Statements, residential status and driving licence which all proved that I am from Malaysia. I think you need to provide more documents such as proof of residence, driving licence , social number and tax number.
