TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around finding insurance companies in Thailand that offer comprehensive coverage for personal injury, motorbike accidents, hospital visits, X-rays/MRI scans, and physiotherapy. Several users recommend specific companies: FWD for health coverage, AXA for reliability (though considered pricey), and AIA for health along with MSIG for bike insurance. Pacific Cross also receives praise for efficient claims processing. Additional considerations include the necessity of a valid motorbike license for insurance coverage and potential age-related restrictions. Users mention the importance of understanding policy exclusions and having medical records translated into Thai.

Are you living in Thailand, or “just” a tourist.

No company will insure you on a motorbike unless you have a valid license to drive one and wear a helmet.

A lot is going to be dependent on your age. Most have 30day exclusion and 60 day for critical illness. Be prepared with medical records for anything you might be taking a prescription for. Also be prepared to have all documents translated from Thai.

We do AIA and Bangkok insurance

If I thought I might need to cover everything you ask for, I think I'd just stay in my home country.

Can you guys tell me what you like about FWD in comparison to the others? (Since it keeps coming up in convo)

Really need one that covers mri/X-rays and physio/ motorbike/accident insurance

Also how long from the time of buying can you use it for these things?

Pacific Cross, we have in/out patient cover. Xrays done once at Bangkok Hospital and claim was paid directly. A lot of hospitals contracted in to Pacific cross and bills get settled without any hassle.

Depending on what u need/age etc take a look at Genki. Wont work for everyone but does for me! €60 odd a month and can cancel at anytime and covers pretty much the same as the big boys. I have a referral code should you need

FWD for bike Roojai is incredible

FWD has great coverage for health

AIA for health. MSIG for bike.

AIA are probably the best but you'll need separate insurance for the bike. And existing conditions won't be covered

I tried FWD who have it all covered but I did it through the local SCB and they f-ed up the application so today they returned my payment.

Then I did AXA online and solved it without issues. But AXA is too expensive for my purpose so next year I’ll try FWD again. By then I’ll be fully established here and won’t have any problem like now.

PS They don’t do rehab, though.

thanks! Both AXA and FWD don’t cover rehab/physio? (By rehab I just mean for injuries by the way hahaha)

@Shannon *****
That’s right. It’s PA insurance and robbing a bank doesn’t count as accident. 🤣

Best to get an insurance agent to check all companies and give you options to choose from, in my opinion.
