TLDR : Answer Summary
Expats in Thailand are seeking recommendations for reliable insurance companies that honor their claims based on personal experiences. Key suggestions include HanseMerkur for Germans/Europeans, Caremed, WRLife, and AIA, with users confirming positive experiences regarding claim payouts and rapid assistance during medical emergencies.

I recently had serious disc surgery and severed sciatic nerve surgery at Sirphat Hospital. Within 2 hours WRLife got back to the hospital with approval of my coverage, and more, and I was operated on an hour later (Thankfully) Very satisfied with them.

Get a reputable insurance from your home country. That way, you know (or should know) how to enforce your rights. Never had any issues. HanseMerkur for Germans / Europeans.

Ryan is from the UK. However, insurance from one’s “home country” is not practical for Americans. The pricing is outrageous.
