I am looking for annual health insurance that carries from aged 60 to 80yrs+.
I seek advice from people who have had both good and bad experiences when actually making a claim. Companies like Pacific Cross, axa etc have policies but its peoples personal experiences that matter.
I am in Bangkok and understand that the Insurance broker used is equally important as, although they all get standard commission on sales, their support and communications in making the process of claiming, simple, is crucial.
I don’t seek 5 star accomodation or VIP treatment, just a policy to cover all expenses, paid directly to a hospital for serious unexpected events like stroke, heart attack or serious accident. I have no health issues.
I think any advice/ experience from members and even brokers will be helpful to all members
Any advice greatly appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion seeks recommendations for annual inpatient health insurance suitable for expats aged 60 to 80 in Bangkok, looking for reliable coverage without preexisting conditions. Community members share personal experiences with various insurers including AXA, Pacific Cross, AIA, and suggest the importance of a good insurance broker. Participants discuss claims processes, coverage experiences, and recommendations for insurers that provide quality service without exorbitant costs.
I have an AIA policy that has paid for 3 hospitalizations and 2 surgeries in the 8 years I have had the policy. Last surgery insurance paid the hospitalization and I only paid the small deductible. Prior to that I paid the hospital and insurance rebated me minus the deductible.
I'm satisfied with my policy but concerned that it will expire when I turn 80.
Yes Rick. It seems some companies have age limits. Also some companies allow you to remain indefinitely, as long as you start the policy by a certain age(but a record of annual premium increases would be essential to make a judgement)
it’s that for me to choose the best broker and best company for you I need to gain your personal information. Im a U.K. qualified financial adviser for expats, there is no charge for the service
I use AIA. Have had a fairly small claim (3 night stay and small procedure) which they paid direct to the hospital. Hospital were angling to be paid in cash, at least I assume why they were dragging their heels, a quick call to my agent and it was sorted in 10 minutes
I was with PC and they denied a large claim for a total thyroidectomy, because of what they classed as "non disclosure". This was because after requesting my Australian medical records, they found I had been treated for a painful shoulder, many years ago and shingles that I had not declared on my application.
Thanks Michael. I have seen comments on facebook that some people have had problems making a claim. As with all comments, I hope this post will show personal experiences, good and bad
