Jakarta DTV update

My husband just got our 2 visas from the embassy!!! 🙌🏼😆

Documents provided

For him as main DTV holder:

- 500k THB on a bank account at date of application

- letter of acceptance from a Muay Thai school on Koh Lanta

- price 5,600,000 IDR

For me as spouse:

- proof of relationship - copy of our civil union certification from Amsterdam (NL)

- copy of his passport

He gave both applications on Monday around 1pm. And got the visas on Thursday at 1.30pm. 3 days like they announce on the website and when you drop the application.

I did not have to be present which allowed me to stay on Bali with our kids.

He only had to proove 1x 500k THB for both of us.

The MT school on Lanta gave a pretty high price to agree to give him the letter.

Note my husband DOES plan on training in MT but NOT everyday because as a family it just doesn’t work. And they were offering daily training at first.

He managed to get the price gor down a bit but still it was quite an expense. Something to take into account when applying for soft power DTV

I feel joy and relief that we are to enjoy Thailand again.

Also happy to answer any questions!

Date of application - 19 Mar 2024

Date of 2nd stamp (after consideration) - 10 Apr 2024

On 10 Apr, no 90 days or bank book was checked or updated. Just get the final stamp, take only 30 min.

Hi

My wife and I are looking to retire to Chiang mai. I have been advised to get our wedding certificate legalised and then apply for the non o visa jointly. Which then only one of us will need the retirement visa and the other gets a dependent visa once we are in Thailand . So only having to put 800k in the bank . I was told they may not issue it because as she is over 50 they may say get her own retirement visa. Was just wondering if any other married couple has managed it this way .Thanks Steve .

I might have to go to the US soon to deal with an unexpected family medical matter. I am a US citizen with an extension to a non-O based on marriage to a Thai. My current year extension ends on November 24. I'm using the 400,000b in the bank method to meet the income requirement and the money has been seasoning since September 14. My immigration office is Chiang Mai.

Questions:

- How far in advance of Nov. 24 can I apply for a new extension? The money won't be fully seasoned until Nov. 14, of course.

- Can I leave Thailand during the provisional period? The intended scenario would be to buy a re-entry permit and return to Thailand in time to get the stamp for the full extension. One concern is the potential home visit. Immigration did visit for the last two extensions so I think it is likely they would visit again.

- If not, or if I am unable to return in time for the stamp, what would make best sense for getting a new visa?

Dear team, I need your help related to the first extension application for Non-O Marriage visa.

My Non-O visa based on marriage with Thai national is admitted on 9th Aug 2022 until 6th Nov.

I will be traveling in and out from Thailand in September, October, and November.

My questions are;

1. Am I able to travel out from Thailand after my submission extension before I receive extension stamp? (ex. I submit extension application on 17th Oct, then travel out from Thailand on 20th Oct)

1. The requirement for 400,000 Baht in my bank is still mandatory when I apply the first extension? I totally forgot about this and removed my cash from Thai bank recently...

Thank you for your help and advice in advance!

One more time people DO NOT hi-jack threads

Teri Cam your comment had NOTHING to do with the thread you put it in. Make your own post.

Hi Tod and Everyone, in my case due to the delay in opening the bank and wiring money, I will have only roughly 9 months history of 800K in the bank. Is it enough to to have an extension?

Bobby Howard

Teri Cam. Is this your first extension coming off a visa? Or have you had an extension which required bank funds prior to this one?

Teri Cam

Bobby Howard, I have Visa OA, and have been here for 1 month. So, this is going to be the first extension.

Ellie Takei

Requirement of funds for extension based on being over 50 requires is you have funds for two months earlier when you apply for an extension. That one-year bank account history is for the second application of extension or later. It is for IO to check you haven't missed the requirement to keep your extension for the previous year..

Teri Cam

Ellie Takei Thank you sooooo...very much to clarify this. I am not going to rush depositing money then. Thanks again Ellie.

I am married are there any places one can get a non o marriage visa without fulfilling the 400 K in a bank for 2 months. I heard Hanoi in Vietnam does not require this. Thank you Steve

Hey was hoping to get some advice regarding extending the marriage visa. So it's time to renew it at the end of next month. They need 400 000 bath on a thaibank for 2 months right? So I was wondering, is there ways around this? Do my wife and kid have to attend? Thanks!
