I just recejected DTV visa in Savannakhet Laos. The reason is even tho I provided sponsorship letter they stay ask for bank statement and baht 500000 should be 2 months period in your account.
But in Vientiane they said that amount should be state at least 3 months. 🥲

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post discusses the rejection of a DTV visa application in Savannakhet, Laos, due to insufficient bank statement requirements. The poster provided a sponsorship letter but was asked for a bank statement showing at least 500,000 baht held for a minimum of two months, conflicting with information received in Vientiane, which stated the funds should be maintained for at least three months. Various comments suggest inconsistencies in the requirements across different locations and offer alternative solutions.
Did they actually reject the application or are they asking for more documentation? Any possibility to wait for a month and submit the doc then thereby not wasting your application fee?
I am applying from hk too for dependent visa most likely, wondering if they would need 6 months as well. I was reading on the website they need 3 months, did they asked you for 6 months?
oh Ic, hopefully mine will be fine... I only transferred money to my bank from my own investments in September. Normally don't keep so much cash in the bank . ..
As there were no central standard indicated for money to be in a bank, unlike for Retirement or Spousal visa, it would seem each Embassy or Consulate can apply whatever rules it wishes!
Anonymous participant I understand but many of the different offices are run like little fiefdoms. As an example a different Immigration Office might have slightly interpretations of the rules for another. Unless the MFA who owns the DTV aligns globally it is something to live with and research where you are applying.
