Dear team, I need your help related to the first extension application for Non-O Marriage visa.

My Non-O visa based on marriage with Thai national is admitted on 9th Aug 2022 until 6th Nov.

I will be traveling in and out from Thailand in September, October, and November.

My questions are;

1. Am I able to travel out from Thailand after my submission extension before I receive extension stamp? (ex. I submit extension application on 17th Oct, then travel out from Thailand on 20th Oct)

1. The requirement for 400,000 Baht in my bank is still mandatory when I apply the first extension? I totally forgot about this and removed my cash from Thai bank recently...

Thank you for your help and advice in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on the procedures regarding traveling out of Thailand after submitting an extension application for a Non-O Marriage visa. Specifically, they are unsure if it is permitted to leave after submission and before receiving the extension stamp. Additionally, they are querying the necessity of maintaining a 400,000 Baht balance in a Thai bank account for two months prior to their extension application, having recently removed their funds.

You may or may not be contacted or visited by an immigration officer during that first under consideration period. So be sure you talk with the immigration officer about your travel abroad plan when you apply for your 1-year extension.

General information for a 1-year extension based on marriage to a Thai is attached. You need to get the latest and your local immigration office version of the handout before you apply for an extension.

Thank you so much. This is clear now. I will give a try to submit extension before my travel and lets see how it works.

You need to show the 400K baht was in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for your extension. SO you do the math and see if you will have your funds seasoned the required time before you apply. There is no 'wiggle room' or 'leeway' on this it's 2 months seasoning (date to date) on the date you apply.

SO to use your example, IF you're applying on Oct 17th you would need to have the funds in the account at or above the 400K baht balance since Aug 17th.

When you apply for your yearly extension for 1900baht you will get a 30 day under consideration stamp (which is the first month of your new year extension) AND once they give you that you would need to BUY a re-entry permit (1000baht for single, 3800 baht for multiple) so you could exit return and keep that under consideration stamp 'alive' when you stamp back in

Keep in mind you HAVE to be back in the country and go to the immigration office on the date that under consideration stamp expires or you will lose the extension and have to start all over over from zero

Thank you again. This is clear and i will do the math based on my travel dates and potential submission dates. At least, I will try to apply extension and if I lose it due to my travel schedule, I will do submission from the sctch.
