Actually I planned to visit Thailand in April on the vacation of songrakan festival but I asked here visa office they telling we need bank balance 7000$ dollar to get visa. After heard this I really shocked.
But I want to know from this group still can I get tourists visa if I don't have 7000$ in bank or I can't get visa or if still I get visa?
Please anyone guide me with this knowledge.
Thank you π

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian traveler inquired about obtaining a tourist visa to Thailand amid claims from a visa office that a balance of $7000 was needed. Various comments clarified that requirements may vary and that, typically, for a visa on arrival, one only needs to show 20,000 baht (approx. $600) in cash. It was suggested that for those looking to stay longer than 15 days, applying for a normal tourist visa might be necessary, although the severe requirements from COVID-19 (like a high bank balance) might have been relaxed recently. It was advised to check back in a few months to confirm current guidelines before the planned visit for the Songkran festival.
To apply for the Thai visa, please visit the following website for requirements:

When my husband (indian) went to Chennai embassy / VFS in early Dec, the staff mentioned that the proof of 5 lakh in bank statement is no longer required. The requirements came up during COVID period and I thought it was over. Neverthess, we submitted the statement anyway and he was granted the 60 days tourist visa within a week. Not sure if this differ in other region.
For Visa on arrival, I don't think your bank statement is required at all. Indians are granted 15 days on arrival visa anyway. If your visit is short, just make sure u have 20k thb in cash for random check at airport, plus visa fees.
bhat is enough right and also 2000 bhat for visa right. Sister where I can change india rupees to Thai currency? Thank you so much sister for your helpful information βΊοΈ
Really π₯Ί is it true. Now I feel so happy I can't say in words because since yesterday when I heard from visa office in my city i have to show 5lakh balance in bank I feel so sad π’ but now read your words I feel happy and is it true that 5lakh Balance showing not required now?
And usually we get 15 days visa to stay in Thailand right how your husband get 60 days stay visa can you tell me more about that.
Because I want to stay atleast 30 days in Thailand because I have to visit most of the tourist places in Thailand.
I suggest you wait and see COVID situation in late February or early March before applying. For normal visa, after submitting your doc to VFS will only take 1 week anyway. As of January India hasn't even open for commercial flights. So just make sure you follow updates til then and apply accordingly. If situation improves, I believe they will revert back to normal requirements where 5 lakhs was not needed.
I'm so lucky because in your worda I can see my sister. I'm so thankful to you sister. I'm happy I get sister from you today π₯³π₯³
And Sure sister you telling correct I will wait till February and may be they can change that 5lakh rules also thank you so much sister now my mind get so relief I feel so happy now π₯³π₯³
There are mainly 2 types of tourist visa for Indian passport traveling to Thailand. 1) Visa on Arrival and 2) normal Tourist Visa
For Visa on Arrival, it's suitable for short term stay of less than 15 days. You don't have to apply visa in advance. Just fly to Thailand and apply at the Airport. In normal situation, the fees might also be waived during tourist seasons.
If you plan to stay longer than 15 days you have to apply for normal Tourist Visa via VFS in your region. This type of visa you have to apply in advance and it will grant you maximum 60 days continuous stay. This was the type which previously demands for 5 lakh statement during COVID period. Due to uncertain circumstances during pandamic, Thai authority wants to make sure you have sufficient funds if you have to stay in Thailand for a long time. Back then, it wasn't even guarantee that you could fly back to India easily.
I heard that the requirements might differ in different states. I only have the information based on my husband's experience in Chennai and what we were told. So pls check accordingly
what two types of visa? I thought only visa. I'm sorry sister because I don't have much knowledge in visa because my family no one travel abroad I'm the first one that's why I don't have any knowledge but I'm so happy today because of this group and form you I now know more knowledge about visa.
It means two types of visa there one is visa on arrival another one is normal tourists visa right. So 15 days stay visa on arrival and I don't need to get this visa in india when I arrive Thailand I can take this visa right woe that's really amazing. Oh now I understand that's why yesterday that visa office told 5lakh I need in bank balance so it only applied for Normal tourists visa and in this visa I can stay upto 60 days right I understand now.
So because of covid 19 they make 5lakh bank balance rules for normal tourists visa it means for visa on arrival I don't need to show 5lakh for that
*****
bhat is enough right.
Now I understand perfectly.
Thank you so much sister for your detailed information now I feel so happy π₯³ then I can travel as my plan in April on songrakan festival time hurray π₯³π₯³
your understanding is correct. For Visa on arrival, pls bring
*****
thb + 2000thb visa fee (safest in cash, exchange in Thai baht) . Sometimes they accept dollars, sometimes they don't check.. but better be safe than sorry.

Sure sir I will do that I full fill all requirements. Ya okay sir so first before applying visa I have to book fight both sides and accommodation booking so if show thise two they will give visa right.
It means sir you waiting for march 2022 and it means you also have plan to visit Thailand?
yes fulfill all the requirements, return ticket, accomadation etc and get visa on arrival. Although i wouldnt plan anything yet until you know the entry requirements in April. Personally i would wait until March 2022 and see what the situation is
ofcourse sir I thought this is rules to enter Thailand but yesterday I visited here visa office they told now we can't get visa without 7000 dollars in bank balance that's why I asked in this group if I don't have 7000 dollar in my bank but I have
*****
baht to enter Thailand. But I don't know they give visa?
wow it means that I applying visa for arriving at Thailand airport? I thought visa on arrival means I first need to apply in India and when I arrive in Thailand they give my visa I thought like this visa on arrival means.
Because sir in my family no one Never travel abroad that's why I also don't have knowledge about visa about traveling but since my childhood I would love to visit another country because I like to learn new knowledge about new country like culture tradition language lifestyle food everything from them but I don't know knowledge about visa and all from you I know what the meaning of visa on arrival.
If they were a favoured group they wouldn't need a visa. How many Farangs want to take their Thai wives to America but cant as unable to get a visa...... as i say every country has rules for immigration based on peoples passports and Thailand is no different.
I think you are right sir I feel so sad Yesterday when visa officer say like about new rules

Now I understand that's why they hate if anyone black skin people visit their country right. So that reason now in Thailand skin whitening products are demand because thai people like to make their skin tone white right this reason they hate black skin tone people
it's just the predominant beauty myth right now, that whiter/lighter skin is more beautiful. In advertising and billboards the Thai people featured are very light skinned. In TV soaps likewise the lead actors, both male and female are fair skinned or even Eurasian
I understand now. Before I don't know these all thanks for sharing this knowledge with me βΊοΈ
And also that skin whitening doesn't effect any side effects?

Stan Moore I really happy to hear there are so many Indian citizen there in Thailand but still today we have this kind of rules to get visa this is so bad π but I really sad to hear thai people hate black skin tone people π₯Ί
But why sir they don't like.
I never think people hate because skin tone it's too sad π’
many Thai people are prejudiced against their own darker skinned Thai citizens, as in those who live in central Thailand and perhaps have Chinese ancestry hate on those darker skinned Thais from Issan, northern Thailand and the southern states. The epitome of beauty seems to be equated with fair skin which is why nearly every beauty product comes with skin whitening chemicals. Totally crazy and difficult to understand
There is a strong Indian community in Bangkok,, but they keep to themselves and help each other. There are also Indians born in Thailand, so they are thai citizens. You'll be fine once you arrive. But there are some thais that are bigoted towards Indians.. And think and say bigoted things about Indians. Dark skin people are not favored by many thais.
concur, it's a known fact of these discriminatory antics against certain nationalities. It sounds harsh, but it's our lived reality when residing in the Kingdom
Thats a bit harsh as every ciuntry has different entry requirements for different passport holders including UK, USA, Australia and virtually if not every country......
