Hey was hoping to get some advice regarding extending the marriage visa. So it's time to renew it at the end of next month. They need 400 000 bath on a thaibank for 2 months right? So I was wondering, is there ways around this? Do my wife and kid have to attend? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your marriage visa in Thailand, you need to have a minimum of 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank for at least two months, or prove a monthly income of 40,000 Baht. Your wife is required to attend the application interview with you, but your child does not need to be present. If you are considering alternatives such as applying in a neighboring country like Laos, please note there are still financial requirements to fulfill. The typical processing time for visa extension can take a couple of days.

Normally it is two days, day 1 apply for visa, next working day get back your passport with your visa. Check the website of each consulate for requirements and times.

You always need to bring signed copy of her ID, her house book and the marriage certificate. She does not have to join you.

Wow ok but that sounds great? So what documents do those guys require then? Is it the same as here but minus the financial dokument?

The only three place where you can get a 1 year multiple entry Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage with a Thai National without financial requirements are Savannakhet Loas, Ho Chi Min Vietnam or Seoul South Korea.

@Robert ******
and again... Thank you!!!

Yes, with the Extension of Stay you need or the Single re-entry permit for 1.000 Thb or the Multiple re-entry permit for 3.800 Thb.

@Robert ******
thank you very much! And also I can leave and re-enter the country as many times as I want within a year, holding multiple-entry visa, right? But every time I wish to leave the country during 1-year Extension, I must buy re-entry permit. Correct?
Robert *******
correct. With the initial visa you leave every 90 days and with the Extension of Stay from Immigration office you report every 90 days at Immigration or by mail or by internet depending on office.

Do I understand correctly the difference between two things...?

If I have multiple entry Non-O visa based on marriage, then I MUST leave the country every 90 days, right? And if I have 1-year extension of the initial 90-days single entry visa, then just do 90 days reports to local immigration, correct?

Oh so it's like doing it all over again?No renewal?There was no witness interview the first time. But there was a home visit. I heard something about going to Laos and do it where the 400 k wasn't needed? If anyone have more info about this please let me know. If thats Is a possibility, do my wife and kid have to go with me there? Thanks for the reply though.

So you like to apply for an Extension of Stay based on Marriage to a Thai National. Sorry there is no thing as a marriage visa and a Visa can not be renewed. One of the requirements is indeed 400.000 Thb minimum for 2 months on a bank account in your name or a minimum income of 40.000 Thb a month, certified by your Embassy if money comes in from abroad or proven with tax payments if it is salary inside Thailand. Your wife has to be with you for an interview and some Immigration offices also want to interview 1 witness.
