TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 6-month stay in Thailand without repeatedly leaving the country, the best option is to apply for a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV). This visa allows for unlimited entries, each valid for 60 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at an immigration office. However, this requires exiting the country at least once during the 6 months. Alternatively, if you're over 50, you might consider applying for a Non-OA visa, which grants up to a year of stay without needing to leave.

There is no easy way to stay 6 months as a tourist without leaving just once.

Best is a 6 months multiple entry tourist visa. Gives you 60 days each entry which can be extended by 30 days each time. So you have to leave and come back at least once.

nope there is not.. Sadly what you want to do doesn't factor in to what you CAN do visa/entry/extension wise here ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜•

The way to get 6 months of stay would be

You go to the thai consulate website in your country, read the requirements, then go to the eVisa website and apply for the 6 month METV <-multi-entry tourist visa.

In the US its all done online, that visa costs 200USD. It's valid for unlimited entries of 60 days each, you can extend each entry for 30 days at the immigration office for 1900baht <- so that gives you 3 months, then you would have to exit/re-enter to get a new 60 day entry stamp and extend that once for 30 more days. <- there's your 6 months

Tod,my second yr experience with The E-Visa ,sent application over a month prior to departure and for the second yr in a row have had to cancel my flight due to awaiting E-Visa via email.Today (starting my 5th week waiting)I received and email AND a phone call from the Embassy (Canada) asking for documents already sent and when was my departure.I informed the lady that I had just the day before had to cancel my flight(due to no visa) and it had cost me Baht 10.000 again for the cancellation (same as last yr.The lady said sorry but we have just started to review/process your application today.Frustrated-annoyed-bewildered.Not a pleasant experience.Your thoughts .Regards.

If you're over 50 you could apply for a Non-OA visa before you leave your home country which will give you up to a year without having to leave Thailand
