I got my visa approved in Hanoi! Flying back through bkk is there a chance that upon entry I will be required to present the 500,000 again or onward plane ticket?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks if they will need to show proof of 500,000 THB or an onward ticket upon re-entering Thailand with a DTV visa. Comments clarify that while an onward ticket is not required for a DTV visa, having proof of funds (around 20,000 THB) may be requested, but is generally unlikely. It is advised to print the DTV visa approval and to keep travel documents handy.

Thank You for your helpful report πŸ‘

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days

I've heard you have to show your boarding pass. They might want to know where you flew from, so keep your boarding pass until you've passed through immigration.

it's all on TDAC on their screens, just put your DTV no on the TDAC online form in the box "visa" that's it, enjoy 5 yrs if hassle free travel 😎

You do not need an onward ticket with a DTV. No requirement to show 500K THB upon arrival. Have 20k THB/other currency to hand as that is.

Any tourist may be asked for an onward ticket mate. It's unlikely for DTV though

The Thai immigration officer who interviewed me for my DTV told me onward tickets are not required with the DTV . Regular tourists require one but not the DTV despite it coming under the tourist visa.

You can be asked but it is not a problem for the overwhelming majority of DTVERS. I have been asked by airlines a couple of times but when informed of my DTV they said it is ok.

That is very rare as others have pointed out. I have entered 8 times with no questions about tickets. It is possible to be asked but for visas which enable long term stay an onward ticket is not needed. If someone has a history of overstaying or other issues then they may be red flagged and questioned.

That's all good and well to be told that mate, but the writing is very clear. It is just unlikely you will be asked with the DTV unless you have a history of overstaying in Thailand

Yeah a history of overstaying could see questions asked.

I’ve entered 4 times on my DTV and have never been asked for an onward ticket. If they do ask I’d simply tell them it’s six months away and you haven’t made your plans to leave yet

0 baht beyond your application as it's an application requirement, not an entry requirement. You MAY be asked to show proof of funds being the 20k baht equivalent like other tourists but unlikely
