Will I need to show 500,000 baht in savings when re-entering Thailand on a DTV visa after the initial 6-month exit?

This will be my first 6 months exit on my DTV visa. When I fly back in to Thailand, will I be asked to show 500,000 bath savings in my account once again? Has anyone experienced this?, or will it be no issue at all?? Please advise 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
When re-entering Thailand on a DTV visa after your six-month exit, it's generally unlikely that you will be asked to show proof of 500,000 baht in savings. Most travelers report not being asked for this requirement at the border, although there are rare exceptions. It's advisable to be prepared for any questions regarding your stay, such as duration and purpose, but strict requirements seem to vary by case and officer.

I came back on my first re entry on my DTV last week, I’m on Muay Thai soft power. I wasn’t asked for the 500,000 proof of funds or evidence of training. But I was asked a few questions such as how long I’m staying,do I work, where am I living, what software power activity am I doing even though I wasn’t asked for proof of it. But honestly I think the officer I saw was a junior officer and was just being more through as she was taking her time with everybody when the other lines were moving far quicker then her. If you have nothing to hide there is nothing to worry about imo.

No, they might ask you what kind of DTV you have, but usually they just stamp and tell you go

Simple answer is no but IO can ask whatever he wants even what you had for breakfast 😀

So far it is not asked at the border (rare cases only), but this may eventually change depending on the will of immigration. Immigration requests it for extensions in the country. The most accurate and honest answer is: no one could guarantee what will happen in the near future but be prepared.

Asked and answered lot of times, use search.

No.

Extremely unlikely to be asked. Never been asked but prepared if it happens.

You can be but most are not asked

not true, maybe immigration can ask to see 20k baht cash

you need 500k to extend but no where in the visa conditions does it say you need 500k in bank to re enter the country

I’ve never heard of immigration officer at airport asking to see someone’s bank balance unless it’s to do with the 20k

just is right, they can ask for the 500K because it is one of the DTV requirements, in fact it is the only requirement valid for all different types of DTV, so they don't have to look up any additional info on their system. Nowhere in the visa requirements is stated they can not be checked at moment of (re)entry, so I see no reason why it cannot be checked by IO. I only heard about one case where IO actually did, so I think it not will happen very often. But why make an issue of it, when they ask in most cases nowadays you can just show online the money is in your account within a few minutes.

the 20k baht is a cash requirement, not money in the bank. But at the end of the day immigration can ask whatever they want.

And where do you find this list of things you can and can't do? Were the extensions conditions stated anywhere for the ones who applied at the very beginning? Extensions conditions came months AFTER the issuance of the first visas. You're in Thailand, nothing is clear until it becomes. Never forget it...

Anonieme deelnemer 999 In country extension should not have different requirements than the original application, because these the requirements should not change in the 5 year period the visa is valid, but as you say, in Thailand you can never be sure of this, and you can almost be sure different immigration offices will have different internal guidelines.
