TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling with a Digital Nomad (DTV) visa, travelers are not required to show the 500,000 THB in cash at the airport unless specifically asked by immigration officers. Funds must be shown during the online application process, and at immigration, you may be asked for a bank statement or proof of sufficient funds, typically around 10,000 THB. Although random inspections may occur, there is no strict requirement to carry cash.
No. There's is (currently) no requirement to maintain a certain amount of money in any single account after a DTV has been issued. The 500k or equivalent is only required during the application.
not for DTV holders, it’s B20,000 not B10,000and it applies to all visa exemption tourists, technically you need to show B20k or equivalent currency in an account or online but only ones likely to be asked are those that they are pulling aside for various reasons, most other tourists are unlikely to be hassled, or there would be an almighty jam at the airport. 🤦🏻♀️
I think the main point is the 500k, that needs to be in the account when applying. The OP asked if that was to be shown at the airport. That read to me as though she may have thought she needed 500k cash in baht
But yeah, 20k not 10. I wont edit it for obvious reasons 👍
nah the question is almost certainly whether a DTV holder needs to show a bank statement that still shows 500k balance, just like during application. The answer is: no, they aren't checking that and there's no requirement to have 500k in any single account after you've already been issued a DTV.
