TLDR : Answer Summary
Community discussions are abuzz with concerns over new COVID-19 travel requirements being implemented in Thailand, particularly in relation to travelers from China. While some view these measures as an expected response to the global situation, others question whether tourists already in Thailand but unvaccinated will receive any visa extensions similar to previous policies. The conversation reflects a mix of skepticism regarding the permanence of the new rules, the potential disparity in treatment between travelers from different countries, and a general apprehension among expats and travelers.

They don’t want to discriminate against the Chinese but have no qualms about discriminating on a daily basis against Farangs that want to enter a national park.

I’d say it’s about dealing with China without discriminating against them specifically.

I think it's unlikely but I also think it's unlikely for this new requirement to stay very long everyone's just worried about China

Can’t see that ever happening again. Certainly not meant to be sarcasm. Irony? Not meant to be that either.

It's a nightmare for those already booked for January. There is a small window for refunds for accommodation and covid travel insurance doesn't cover change in vaccination policy.
