The discussion centers around the official announcement regarding adjustments to quarantine rules for travelers entering Thailand, which was noted to be communicated through the Thai embassy in Canberra. Although some participants express optimism about potential reductions in quarantine duration, others remain cautious, noting that the official guidelines have yet to be published in the Royal Gazette, the authoritative source for Thai legal matters. Queries arise about the implications for vaccinated travelers, lists of approved countries, and existing quarantine obligations for those with pre-booked ASQ accommodations.

It’s not official - there’s no mention in the royal gazette - that’s the only source of information that is factual .

I heard yesterday on the news, before Phuket opens to shorter quarantine lengths herd immunity needs to be in place that's 70% of Phuket's population vaccinated

I'd be checking the list of countries with new Covid variants before I got to excited there are 58 countries that have reported new Covid variants that's over 25% of the world this new rule won't include
What happen of i book asq already for 15 nights but payment have not been done. It will only be done on 16 april.. my coe is approved.. my question is if they quarantine is reduced to 10 days , what will happen to my asq that i previously booked?
no he didn't. You need permission from the Malaysian government and enter state quarantine unless your a short term business visitor staying less than 14 days and then quarantine can be waived in certain states
I'm sorry. I had no idea that I do will be opening up in May with no quarantine. Also Malaysia. My Malaysian friend just got out of quarantine 2 weeks ago and last I knew indo was only issuing business visas with 14days quarantine. How things change in a matter of days
- I had a ban + by Oct this yr its finished - even with Quarintine + documents , I should be able to go straight in if no isolation , but I reckon I'll be sent home , it's all wrong since the King 9 🙏🙏🙏 pass away , then Covid + Army Government , Siam will never be the same -
I for one would much prefer the cost difference I am seeing on top of not being trapped in a room for 4 additional days. I'd prefer more, but I'll take any reduction.
I can understand that, for that situation it doesn't help a lot. For others it does. I don't expect much for tourism until it is lifted, but there are quite a few people that live here and also have roots in other countries so are happy for any reduction for return trips.
Exactly. My wife and I are going back to the UK to see our family in June. My wife returns here in July, and I'll come back in October; these potential changes will be welcome. I've done the 15-night quarantine; any reduction will be welcome.
i am in Singapore so think i am allright but not planning to come back till July

Rene Bos. I think any relaxation will be targetted at the main tourist markets for Thailand, which is China and Korea. These are the people they want back in to pump up the economy. Obviously countries which have handled the pandemic brilliantly, such as Australia and NZ will supplement that, although in pure numbers those markets are historically low.
The restrictions are as a result of the emergency decree, not legislation. As a result, a change to the restrictions don't need to go through legislation and be published in the RG.
You can find it at many websites already, but as Benjamin said... it's not official yet. There was just today another story from a guy from the U.S., his CoE was refused because he booked "short" ASQ already; his arrival was planned in April. Also... the list with the eligible countries isn't released yet. So... everything is still a big "maybe" right now...
