TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion includes recommendations and warnings regarding visa agents in Thailand. While some users suggest specific agents like ElitePath and HuaHinvisasolutions, others caution against using agents due to high fees and the potential for application rejections, especially if the paperwork is not submitted properly. Overall, many advise that it may be easier and more cost-effective to handle visa applications independently.

Stop paying extortionate amounts to agents.. They used to be fairly priced in the past, but now they’re absolutely taking the piss with their fees. Over the past 12 years, some of their services have quadrupled in price!

I posted earlier about our experience of my partner's application being rejected in Hanoi despite having all the correct paperwork, which we had compiled ourselves. We're starting to think it was because an agent submitted it on our behalf, using an agency email address which is clearly not a personal one. There have been cases of agents submitting non genuine paperwork for clients. It's speculation still but it seems like one of the most plausible reasons for the rejection.

The agent we used wasn't expensive. Total price including embassy fee was 16k but it wasn't worth it for us. He is reapplying soon, maybe tomorrow or the next day but has been in Hanoi since 15th. It was a costly mistake for us.

Please do yourself a favor and avoid agents. There are plenty of visa options (not just the DTV), and one should match your profile. If you don’t qualify for any, it’s probably because Thailand isn’t the right fit for you yet. An agent won’t be able to protect you from immigration checks, and if one occurs, you’ll likely have to pay extra for their assistance and that won’t be cheap.
