Why was my 60D Tourist Visa rejected by the Thai Embassy, and should I reapply or enter on a 30D visa exempt?

Hi All, applied for 60D Tourist Visa with Thai Embassy in Singapore, got rejected even tho I submitted all my docs. Not sure why as I am certain I met all required docs.

Worth trying again? OR should I just enter on 30D visa exempt, then apply for another 30 days in Chiang Mai before this 30D expire? TIA!

Man, I just don't understand why people go through all the hassle of applying for a tourist visa if they're just coming for less than 2 months. Plus, 2 months visa exempt only costs 1900 baht...isn't a 60D tourist visa more expensive, or about the same?

TR60 is cheaper (£30) than the extension (1900B)

it's more about do you want to spend a day of your time before you come, or lose a day of your trip in Thailand going to immigration for an extension?

But if your country does evisa then it's pretty much always easier to just get the visa before you come.

The only time I would advise against it is if you're coming for less than 30 days because then you can do it for free.

And it always looked like a headache gathering the requirements, then mailing your passport off. Ah, to each their own. I'll spend what's usually 3ish hours at immigration.

@Jason *******
there is no mailing your passport off...

Oh, they do e-visas now. Well that part is good. Still not for me, though.

It says at the bottom you can bring your documents to the Thai embassy to submit in person.

Seems like that will let you clear things up quickly.

This online system is poorly thought out and leaves a lot of room for misunderstandings and poor communication.

@Alan ******
it's worth that you go to Thai Embassy

Thank you for this. Actually that's the next step in the application process. Once the online approval is confirmed, they require me to bring all documents in person.

Ah ok, I misunderstood then. Call your Thai embassy during their consulate hours and speak to someone.

Whoever handled your application didn’t understand what was submitted.

You can also try resubmitting and adding a photo with a written note explaining things attached to the documents.

But I would call first

Next bottom red shows status after I submitted, says "REJECTED"

Did you submit a bank statement for May and June showing the appropriate funds?

@Garrett **********
Yes I did. Since my bank statements are all E-statements, I sent Account Consolidated Statement, as well as all the transactions for the months required. And yes I definitely have more than $1000 in the account. anyway I have resubmitted my application and tried to be even more detailed this round.

Lol, did you read it? It clearly says exactly what you need to do.

Surely they gave you a reason for rejection.
