TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster seeks advice on the best visa agent in Bangkok to help their Thai girlfriend obtain a US Tourist Visa, as they plan to move to Thailand after retirement but want her to accompany him to the US for visits. Responses suggest both using agents and filing the application independently. Opinions vary, with some recommending specific agencies or individuals, while others caution against relying on agents due to the complexities of the application; they emphasize the importance of demonstrating strong ties to Thailand to improve visa approval chances.

My GF was denied, there wasn't even a lot of discussion about it. She's a government employee, has a son, but zero assets. We were completely honest in the application saying she was coming to visit me for 1 month on vacation. I provided an I34 affidavit of support but they didn't look at it. Any suggestions on how to get her over to see what life is like here?

Hmm.. I applied for it with an invitation letter from my niece to stay at her place. Print all documentations including proof of income and bank account as well. They end up didn't ask me for anything. Just look at the application form and gave me 10 years tourist visa. BTW that was more than 5 years ago, not sure how difficult it will nowadays.

Good luck Mike. Don’t listen to the ‘nay sayers’. I have my Thai wife here in UK with me now and could not be any happier 😊

Incidentally we did all the visa applications ourselves (tourist first then spouse) and had a few rejections but got there in the end. Don’t give up!

If she's gonna be your bride, don't bother with the U.S. tourist visa. That will be much harder for her to qualify compared with if she is your wife. For U.S. visa purposes Wife = Family. Anything else: Girlfriend, Boyfriend, Fiancee, etc. = Just another Thai person wanting to get visit the USA.

The best way is to get married first then apply for her Green card at the US embassy at the same time you apply for her visa to enter Thailand. Without doing that it can take a year or more for her to get a visa, if she even gets one, but applying for her Green card at the same time only takes about three months more, and then she is set without having to apply for any more visas. Without doing this she would have to apply for a visa everytime even though you are married. It is best not to use an agent. It is pretty easy to do, it is just real involved, and even with an agent you can't get around that.

Very hard to get a visa for Thai GF. Not impossible. But difficult. Alot easier to wait until after you are married. I tried for years. After we were married it was easy.

not sure if you are still waiting for the interview, but you can check the calendar online and move it up if an appointment comes available. My wife checked daily and was able to move hers up from about 3 months to 1 month after applying. This was at CM which I think has a shorter wait list than Bangkok to start with.

After you've been married for 2-3 years, then she can try and apply. Does she own real property? Have 1-2 million Baht in savings, etc.? She will need to bring these kinds of documents with her to the interview. They want to see good reason to return.

Do it yourself, takes YOU the same amount of time as using an agent..The agent asks YOU to provide to the agency, all the information that YOU would submit to immigration, if doing it yourself.

Agent not pretty much help you still need to prepare all documentation for them then they will fill forms DS160 for you. my suggestion is go to fill form DS160 by yourself follow they instructions. it not hard then summit after that booking date for interview (as i heard q for interview it super long right now pls start asap if you can ) visa get approved or not is depend on your fill form and her answer when they interview her .

There is no BEST visa agent and any agent that says they can guarantee a thai a US tourist visa is talking out their backside.

They can help you answer the questions correctly, on the app but NONE of them have pull enough to affect the outcome of the application.

It is 100% totally doable by you and your thai significant other online using the website of the US embassy to apply.

Remember the burden is on the thai to show sufficient thaiz 😮 err ties to thailand to LEAVE the US when their stay is up, not fall off the grid and overstay.

Tod Daniels having previously worked for more than 20 years with the largest immigration firm in the world, I would concur and say that this response is all that is needed in response to the original post.

The only thing I would add is that a US immigration attorney may provide you with other potential options that may be available in addition to a tourist visa.

My wife of 17 years was denied tourist visas twice during the Trump administration despite having visited twice before under a previous tourist visa. A so-called agent told me that during the Trump administration they changed the policy. I don't know if it's been changed since.

Very difficult for a single Thai lady to be granted a US Visa. Before my wife and I were married, she was denied twice. 1st 2 tries, they never even considered looking at her supporting documents. (Proof of financial support, background checks for both of us, letter of guarantees, ….

We ultimately went to an agency for help after we gave up and married here. Initial application was denied and was told she needs to apply for “marriage visa”, green card. Application for a green card takes about 1yr, approved, made a trip to the US, then later surrendered the green card after a couple trips for a 10yr visa. We made only one trip to the US on the 10yr visa before this Covid crap.

You don't need a visa company. Spend the time to learn what is needed. Sure, the USA is harder than many, all perhaps but it is simply a box ticking exercise and if you cannot pass a question, you have to change the application to suit or wait until you can.

agree did my wife's and over the years helped others and you need to show the applicant is returning home. Ties such as land, business, even kids. So many overstay they have to be hard.

My fist wife, Thai, became a US Citizen, however after she passed I remarried so back to square one

I used land, business, family, bank accounts as she was joint on my US and Thai Accounts, her bank accounts and documented proof of my long term ties to Thailand. Interview was 3 minutes

If you don't have the correct information the visa company will still take your money and you still will not have a visa, the most important thing you can have is g/f work history present employer with letter saying she allowed time to go USA and she will be returning, if you don't have that don't waste your money.

Good luck with that tourist visa. Very hard to get for a Thai girl. My wife tried and was denied like most all.

If you want to bring her to the US do the K-1 fiancé visa.

Took me 5-6 months with immigration attorney and she was here.

So far I've seen a lot of people say they have been successful getting a tourist visa for their wife, including me. Has anyone been successful in getting their girlfriend or fiance a tourist visa (not fiance visa)? Back when my wife was only my girlfriend she was denied simply because she had an American boyfriend because they thought she would overstay. Told her to apply for the fiance visa instead. We reapplied for a tourist visa after we were married and she was approved.

unfortunately she will not be able to hide an American fiance or boyfriend if there is any social media of them. Aon had to give her social media accounts to them at the interview. They looked at them and knew everything as a result. They didn't learn anything they didn't already know since I had written an invitation letter, but if she had given any other reason than to see me they would've known she was lying. I assume it is a lot better to be honest about everything.

So she is getting visa as a spouse or fiancé?

If spouse it’s actually easy that you can do it yourself. If it’s for fiancé I’d suggest you find an agent based on US first to consult (there are many in big cities like LA/NY/SF)

Anyway good luck, it’s US visa won’t be too difficult if you are legit and clean citizen
