Ok so the stamp Immigration gives me will only be valid until April 24th? So I still have to leave the country on April 24th?

Wow, I did not know I had to do this! Ok so just to make sure I have this right. I cancel my work permit at the department of labor, get the receipt and the termination paperwork, and go to Immigration to cancel my current extension. Then Immigration will give me a new stamp, and I can stay until the date on the stamp?
