thank you robert. one final question if you'll permit - does the extension of stay grant multi-entry similar to how the original visa worked, or is it invalidated upon departure? is this where a re-entry permit comes into play?

thanks robert. does that mean the "valid until" date of the current visa is irrelevant to the extension of stay process?

thanks so much for the detail, you are a fountain of useful information! insurance isn't an issue (i'm covered under my partner's policy, we just need a new letter stating coverage). the hard part is matching my timeline with hers - she has to do a border bounce in early sep (her non-o stamp is until 07-sep) so i'll likely need to leave with her prior to my 14-sep visa expiration. but if we do a two week trip that extends beyond 14-sep, then i can apply for a tourist visa and get an easy 60 days, correct? i'm deducing that i can't apply for a tourist visa until my non-O-A expires?

so if get a new insurance letter showing coverage through 31-dec and do a border bounce in early sep, when i re-enter will my stamp be through 15-oct or 31-dec? just trying to ascertain if i need to apply for a STV while i'm out of the kingdom, or will my current visa grant me stay through the end of the year? thanks again for the advice.
