What is my legally allowed stay date in Thailand with a non-O-A visa and what options do I have for renewal?

last year i got a non-O-A (retirement) visa which says valid until 14-sep-2022. i entered the kingdom on 16-oct-2021 and was stamped until 15-oct-2022 (top stamp). last week i visited cambodia and upon return was stamped until 30-sep-2022 (bottom stamp).

two questions:

1. which of these three is my "legally allowed to remain in the kingdom until" date?

2. i will likely be leaving the kingdom permanently sometime in december. given the relatively short duration beyond the date in #1, do i have any other options beyond the 800k baht in a local bank account to renew my non-O-A?

thanks to the group for assistance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The legally allowed date to remain in Thailand is until 30-Sep-2022, as indicated by the bottom stamp received upon re-entry from Cambodia. For options to extend your stay, since you are planning to leave in December, you can either obtain a new insurance policy that meets the requirements and re-enter before 14-Sep-2022 to get stamped in for a year, or alternatively, exit Thailand, apply for a single-entry tourist visa, which would allow you an additional 60 days, extendable by 30 days at an immigration office.

NOW, let's look at the VISA itself.

That visa is a multi-entry OA and you can enter the country all you want on it right up until the 14th of Sept 2022. <- That's the last day you can enter and get stamped IN to the country on it

IF you got a new insurance policy that met the requirements before that date, exited and re-entered you would get stamped in until that policy runs out (up to a year).

There is no 'short term' buy you 3 more months to stay in thailand option on that visa that you can do IN country.

You have two choices

Just get a 3 month insurance policy, exit/re-enter the country on or before the 14th of Sept and get stamped in for the validity of the insurance.

OR

Just exit the country, go to a thai consulate nearby and BUY a single entry tourist visa, come in get 60 days, extend that by the 30 you can get at the immigration office for 1900baht and that would buy you the time until dec when you will leave.

, good advise . I would leave and return before O-A visa is finished with new 3 month insurance policy.

that'd be one way to get them to stay until dec, BUT I don't know if it'd be cheaper than just going to a thai consulate and buying a single entry tourist visa for 1000baht

so if get a new insurance letter showing coverage through 31-dec and do a border bounce in early sep, when i re-enter will my stamp be through 15-oct or 31-dec? just trying to ascertain if i need to apply for a STV while i'm out of the kingdom, or will my current visa grant me stay through the end of the year? thanks again for the advice.

IF you can prove you meet the insurance requirements (which at this time are
******
out/in-patient coverage BUT will go to 100K USD general health coverage in Sept/Oct <-9no one is sure WHEN exactly) you could certainly get stamped in for the 3 months

I'd just leave the country AFTER your current VISA sticker expires (Sept 14th) go to a thai consulate nearby and get a single entry tourist visa, come in get 60 days and extend that by 30 more at the immigration office.

That to me is the easier of the choices

thanks so much for the detail, you are a fountain of useful information! insurance isn't an issue (i'm covered under my partner's policy, we just need a new letter stating coverage). the hard part is matching my timeline with hers - she has to do a border bounce in early sep (her non-o stamp is until 07-sep) so i'll likely need to leave with her prior to my 14-sep visa expiration. but if we do a two week trip that extends beyond 14-sep, then i can apply for a tourist visa and get an easy 60 days, correct? i'm deducing that i can't apply for a tourist visa until my non-O-A expires?

@Jason ******
you can apply for a tourist visa while you still have a valid Non-OA, (tell them embassy you want off the OA is all)

AND

you need to make SURE comin' back in they use the tourist visa to stamp you in

Unless I'm mistaken the reason you weren't given a full year entry stamp is that you were stamped in only until your insurance expired (which is what I believe that hand written thai says under the stamp).

When does your
******
health insurance run out?

At this time you can stay IN thailand until the 30th of Sept. <- it's the ENTRY STAMP that lets you stay here not the visa sticker

you are correct, i just checked the insurance paperwork (actually my partner's policy, which also covers me) and it says valid until 30-sep.
