i must be reading different news then you i cannot see how any tourists wants the added expenses of paying for quarantine hotels for 2 weeks plus additional covid tests before and after travelling then additional quarantine when arriving back in home countries and also the uncertainty of being allowed to travel anyway and prebooking flights .. if they allow people in ie tourists it is purely going to be long stay or people wishing to retire here and personally can’t see anything happening until next year unless u read all these crap announcements they put out daily to appease the thai population x
Brian as i said Australia now is much more relaxed only 2 weeks on basis you follow their strict instructions and processes it use to be 12 months but they have become more friendly about this.
obviously this depends which country the dog is coming from but even countries like Australia which in the past required 12 months quarantine have reduced this to 2 weeks not he basis pet has all the required vaccinations and certificates from a vet.
yes 100 pct right plus i started to use a lawyer to go to immigration as sick and tired of turning up and being told or asked wrong papers or information when i know i was doing the right thing, i have had a retirement visa for more then 10 years before i switched over and in the early days my wife and i could be out in 45 minutes all done including multiple re-entry visa. also limo services to and from airport and i use to commute between singapore and phuket so i used a VIP service when i arrived at the airport in phuket to get straight through as in high seasons you could be standing in a sue with a bunch of chinese or russians who have not completed immigration forms for hours.
TE have now said TE members can come to Thailand but you must have Covid insurance, i have TE it is not for everyone due the cost but if you really want to stop all the hassles visiting immigration and being made to jump through hoops opening bank accounts and maintaining 800k in account then TE is perfect, gives you alot of other benefits so even though you pay say 500k for a 5 yr visa for me there are savings of approximately 200k so it really is only costing me say 300k over 5 yrs. yes you still must do 90 reporting but this can be done on line or in phuket we have a drive through which takes max 5 mins and you stay in the comfort of your vehicle in aircon. you need to leave the country every 12 months and return this can be just for 1 day as then at immigration it resets your stay for another 1 yr. if you do this at immigration there is a small cost thb2,000 but a bit of paperwork to complete but TE organises an appointment time for you with a copy of letter of appointment i just had to do this as we cannot leave the country. i would recommend just taking the 5 yrs and then you can decide after this period if you want longer or just do 5 yrs again, the 20 yr visa i think is more like 2 million. if you are husband and wife they do a 5 yr for 800k. good luck.
