I had the same in The Netherlands during covid visa regulation. You sign a form that you don't have it and then the doctor signs off on it. Its nothing. Most of these hardly exist and the tests are very expensive.

One visa is not the other...So there is no general 'visa application'. Me and the wife did my non-o our self. One, because we don't want to support the agent system and two, because when you do have to start doing it yourself (change of rules or whatever), they actually know your face and you know it has been done right before (which is sometimes a bit shady with agent). But honestly, there where multiple times that steam was coming out of my ears, blood from the eyes and so on. Yes, you probably live longer using an agent.

There is no such thing as a 'tourist visa on entry'. What you mean is Visa Exempt. For Dutch people it is not a 'Visa on arrival'. Its complicated enough for some people so you might want to get the terminology correct.

You see confusion in him being worried too much? I don't think he is asking for advice, its just a funny anecdote about the randomness of Thai Immigration. Also don't read anywhere the words "con period" were used in communicating with an officer so I don't see any language barrier you keep mentioning.

for me the funny thing is that you just decided that you want to learn Thai because of the visa that comes with it and someone suggested it. Following that you expect everyone to babysit you through it. You realize you would have to go back to school right?

Yeah I get the point. Let me rephrase that. It doesn't matter if its true or false in Thailand. I know plenty of stories, some first hand. I was just letting the lady know that you have to be careful dropping names online if you don't want to find yourself in a lawsuit or on the street. I'm sure her landlord is not snooping around on this platform, it was just a little heads up.
