TLDR : Answer Summary
The benefits for a Thai woman marrying a foreign man can vary based on immigration laws and personal circumstances. Some potential benefits may include easier access to her husband's country through spousal visa options, dual pricing advantages in Thailand, and potential economic stability through shared financial resources. However, comments suggest that the principal benefit lies more in the relationship itself rather than any substantial visa-related advantages. Discussions indicate that, while marriage to a foreigner may simplify some bureaucratic processes, the real value is often perceived in emotional support and partnership, rather than legal or financial gain.

Seeing u r a pom Pa, if u & your wife are legally; it's much easier to get your wife a visa to visit your country... I'm Australian and been married for 31 years, my wife has never been rejected for visiting down under & also USA...

As long as your paperwork is correct and truthful, you wife will never have a problem unless the finance side is low in funds to support her, depending on how long her visits are going to be...

Nonsense question🥴

It depends on the passport you are currently using if you are solely discussing visa benefits. If you have a Myanmar or Cambodian passport, she will not look at you twice. If you have a Tier A passport, she will have many benefits. I'm not sure what benefits you'll receive as a farang.

I don't know why the same kind of people are always insulting others, why you cannot just answer his question or if you do not understand ask him politely? It is a matter of respect and education, calling others stupid is easy in a chat, but not many do in front of you, always the same... Happy new year for all of us!! (If my phrase is not correct sorry, please no need to insult me, English is not my first language).

You can obviously get the 1 year marriage visa if you’re married to Thai woman. Also if you have kids with them same deal.
Ryan ********
It's posts like these that make me depressed for the state of human beings here. Happy New Year to you, I guess.

For Thai woman going to farang home country …help from farang in translation,documentation, fees, paid for flights, hotel/accommodation, transportation,porter service ,sightseeing, food ,etc etc . Everything on the house 🤣. And when the farang comes to Thailand ? Dual pricing ,scams,etc etc.
Shaughn ***********
She get some security benefits that means if you were to leave her for another then you have some hoops to jump through in order to leave her and maintain your visa here
Shane **********
If it’s a PR visa for her she will have free medical, social security benefits and work rights where she can earn in one hour what she would make in two days in Thailand.

Get a work permit if you work. If you're retired, get a retirement visa.

The benefit to the girl is obvious. To you there is no benefit. Work permit or retirement is much better.

You don't want your staying here in a temperamental Thai ladies hands.

If you want her to go to your country, then that is entirely different. But even then I would have a think. Not many Thai women settle overseas. Most return pretty quickly because they are naturally shy and struggle to make friends or acclimatise/language barriers.
Peter ********
Read the question folks. No benefits for the Thai woman married to a farang, other than the 'marriage' benefits. For the hapless farang, some Thai beaurocratic processes are easier.

If English is the second language of someone posting on this site, that person needs to say so. I think it would be easier for readers to figure out what is written and why.✔️
Steve *******
Tim Bridson Exactly, not all understand English either. I'll explain it for you. Not every UK citizen's first language is English!

, that doesn't necessarily make English his native language.

For the farang in Thailand? A reliable interlocutor for maneuvering the bureaucracy. That’s it.

For her? Depends on the farang’s passport.

Pension, inheritance, social security and so on in your country. In her country she gets all because you cannot put house on your name
Mike ******
@Marijke *******
bull shit. You can own a house. I have 3. Get your facts right before you spill shit on someone serious question
Robert *********
@Marijke *******
i have read that you can own the house just not the land its on. so a special land lease is needed to stay in the home, also you can own a condo .
Marijke ********
@Robert ********
if you married half is hers. You cannot buy without your spouse. I have my cousin who is married with a Thai who isn't a gold digger thank God
Robert *********
@Marijke *******
you can buy a condo and not be married, and i believe the same goes for the house , just not the land. google it.
Marijke ********
@Robert ********
that wasn't the question
Robert *********
@Marijke *******
ah yes but your comment about not owning a house is what my comment was to correct you.

Visa? 🤔🤔🤔🤔 which country? Your country or her country? ..... nothing 😅😅.....money from your pocket?
Brandon *********
She gets half your assets in the country when you get divorced
Clifford **********
@Brandon ********
exactly that!
Doug *********
@Brandon ********
Not if its separate property. This is true even in California. Just make sure to document that the asset or source of funds used to buy the assets was separate property. Its worth hiring a lawyer beforehand to do so.
Brandon *********
@Doug ********
I was wrong, foreigners have no rights to property here. She’s keeps 100% and custody of the kid
Doug *********
@Bra****
Foreigners cannot own land in Thailand. Its a stupid restriction and some foreigners try to get around it by simply putting the land in the name of a spouse. But putting land in the name of a spouse - without any restrictions - is generally a stupid idea anywhere.
Alex ********
@Doug ********
the only way around it is to set up a company.

True, you need a Thai to hold 51% of the shares, but you set it up so you have the voting power.

Then you make your fees whatever the company makes.
Doug *********
@Al**
This can work, but you need to be careful about the nominee issue.

She already knows if she upgrades her passport and citizenship to say that of a European, American or Australian they can not only travel easier, but get pensions etc

If you're talking about obtaining a visa for the country of his or her spouse, it depends, as immigration policies vary greatly. Sometimes, it's actually more difficult to obtain a visa if the person is married to a national of the desired country to visit.
Frank **********
No benefit for her except for a husband.
Colin *********
@Frank *********
some might not consider that a benefit after a while 🤣
Frank **********
@Colin ********
true 5555.

Zero, because she doesn't need one. But I don't think that is your question so you might want to rephrase, this is too vague...
