Tony, the lazy nonsense is only reading one source. Men and women/children leave their home countries mostly as families. Can you guess what happens to the women and children along the way? It is researchedand published. Don't be lazy. You are happy to accept racist tropes from news media owned by non-dom non-tax payers, who lie to get lazy idiots to support a corrupt racist government that allows them those tax breaks and media power. I'm happy to say your decisions, behaviour and comments reflect your racism, even if it is largely borne of ignorance from a failure to widen your source material. There is some truth in your view of Romanian economic migrants. But it's not true even of all Romanians, many of whom are persecuted in their own country. And it's still fundamentally racist to reject someone on the grounds of their nationality, race, faith etc etc with no investigation into their personal allowances circumstances and reasons for fleeing.
France is not safe for most refugees, Nigel. Do some basic research on attacks against refugees in countries you would feel safe in. That's called white privilege, to feel safe in France, Belgium, Italy, Greece etc
Your maths? How many asylum seekers are in the UK? 1.2m UK population increase in last 3 years? Quote source before making shit up. UK born citizens have a +ve birth rate. What are you going to do about that? And why are you in Thailand playing Empire Builder when you show obvious signs of racist ignorance like these?
This is a lie propagated by media and RW politics. UN convention (which UK signed) acknowledges they can arrive by any means, via any route, and apply for asylum when in a country they feel safe. Refugees get beaten by police (or racist groups aided by police) in Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Belgium. They are forced into slavery in Libya. Find the facts and stop spouting lazy racist tropes
Tony you're ignorant of the facts. Find better news media than Mail, Sun, Telegraph, Express. All run by non-dom foreigners who don't pay tax in the UK.
I'm open to living anywhere in SE Asia. I hear Laos and Cambodia are both cheaper that Thailand. Less onorous visa requirements too. And I can visit Thailand as often as I like
