i did it myself a few months ago.I live in Thailand now.I used an agent for the trip(Bangkok-Savannaket).7000 for the trip (hotel and meals included),and 5000 bath for the visa.Stay 1 night in Savannaket(5 star hotel).The agent takes care of everything.I think it was Visa service Thailand.Have to check.You travel in group with mini Van.Perfect service.

Go to Savannaket,Laos,Thai consulate,no financial requirements...5000 bath for Non-O multiple entry....check their website....
