TLDR : Answer Summary
The author has applied for a 90-day Non-O retirement visa at the Samut Songkhram Immigration Office but faced issues with the acceptance of their legalized affidavit from the Belgian Embassy. They are seeking advice on how to proceed, particularly before booking a return trip to Savannaket. Responses emphasize the importance of using the correct type of income certificate required by Thai immigration, noting that only specific documentation from the embassy is acceptable for the visa application.

What is the difference between the Swiss and Belgian income affidavits?

the Swiss Embassy legalizes the content of the affidavit, the Belgium embassy legalizes only your signature and not the content....

that's why they won't accept it. The embassy needs to verify your income I believe. I think that's why the US, UK, and Australia stopped doing them, so add Belgium to the list.

Showing deposits from abroad means nothing. The only thing you can use to apply for 90 day non-O visa is certification of income from your embassy or proof of 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account. That is it.

you can try asking for a supervisor. But it's difficult to get them to change their mind since each office gets to make their own rules. I don't think your office is a very common one for foreigners to use
