I didn't have any embassy letter, only fill up application form for extension, and signed another 3 forms given by the immigration (for covid extension, and awareness of not to overstay papers), just have to attach 1 photo, and provide signed copies every page of the passport, then paid 1900 at counter 7 in Chiang Mai Immigration Office (airport), waited a few minutes then got the stamp up to Feb 28, 2021, not "under consideration" stamp. FYI. Good luck to you all.

We have the same stamp as yours with expire date on Dec. 30 (covid extension previously), and went to Chiang Mai Immigration (near airport) to apply for another covid extension on Dec. 4 and got extended up to Feb 28, 2021; (better arrived early in the morning before 9 a.m. so there are few people, need to bring 1 photo and copy every page of passport). This week maybe the Immigration Office is busy, suggest you go there next week. Good luck

@Benjamin *****
Dear Benjamin, how about for children over 15 year old but under 18 years old, I have a teenager boy now age 15+, entered with tourist visa this year and now on amnesty until Sept 26.

As the family still want to stay in Chiangmai until October or November to wait for all risks/quarantine are eased for available direct flight home from Chiangmai to Guangxi, China, (now there's no direct flight available), but our consulte/embassy say they no longer issue a letter to Immigrations. Therefore, it would be very likely that our teenager boy will become overstay. (no problem for parents because both have non-o retirement visa to stay for another year)

So what penalty will the teenager boy be facing if stay passed Sept 26? (besides fine of 500 baht/day)
