Did you marry in Thailand? Maybe you need to register your marriage at the U.S. Embassy in Thailand to have them recognize that she married to a U.S. citizen. I married my husband for over 30 yrs, I just went to the Thai Embassy in DC to register my marriage and then went to Thailand to register my marriage there.

I just came back from BKK to the U.S. Last month, I went to BKK to register my marriage. We have been married for over 30 yrs. I had to translate all of my documentations to Thai. My friend found out for me that we could translate it ourselves and she was right. My friend translated everything to Thai and we went to Central World (6 floor) to submit. We had to make some corrections. They circled what we need to correct and told us what words to use. So, I did not spend anything. I originally talked to someone at the Best Translation. You can e mail them at mybesttranslation.th@gmail. com or call them at 02-102-0563 or 02-102-0564. Cell phone at 098-246-4108. I did not endorse them because I did not use them. I gave you the contact number if you don’t know anybody. I think they were going to charge me 6000 baht because I have a lot of pages (11 pages)to translate. They will charge you per page. I assume you have less pages than mine. Good luck.

you are right. I am Thai who is thinking about retiring in Thailand. My family opts to be taken care of at the private hospitals as there is no long waits. My father had his hips replacement at Bamrungraj Hospital about 15 years ago for 700,000 baht and mom had hips replacement for 400,000 baht (I think) at Samitivej Hospital 2 years ago. Even though you are at private hospitals, I can see difference in pricing. I think it depends on where you go. If you goes to public hospitals, make sure you go early. And yes, it would be much cheaper. I have an insurance in Maryland and the wait for a new doctor is about 2-3 months. Now, I am in search for a primary care physician. I called several doctors and they said they did not take any more new patients. I never heard of that in Thailand. You will see a doctor and do not have to wait that long.
