There was mention from various embassies that they would not give letters due to repatriation flights being available.. couple or 3 weeks ago. There has been no restriction of flights out of Thailand being the reason apparently

if you do it in Bangkok... 5000 baht you get it in 3 days posted, 300 baht... a month to 2 months wait..... I do mine every year there for work... if you a Brit use disclosure Scotland but then it’s posted to your c/o address in UK then someone can scan it for you and email it on... takes anything up to 2 weeks

Just a point of note for anyone if requiring a police check. If you need one then the office off Sukhumvit will give you one. Apply in person preferably assisted by a thai national to translate for you...supply 2 passport photos. 5000 baht if required quickly(posted within 3 days or 300 baht if you are prepared to wait up to 3 months). I have required these periodically when requiring police checks for visa for working abroad. If you are a british national then the alternative way to get one is to apply online to DISCLOSURE SCOTLAND ( but do not enter your foreign address...you can use a forwarding address in the UK to get someone to scan said disclosure to you...usually posted within 24 hours. Both are valid worldwide...but only valid for 1 year from application date
