Nonsense. We got married in Thailand. NoAffidavit required.

I had an excerpt from my civil registration in Netherlands, in English language, legalised by the Thai embassy.

Then we went to the Dutch embassy in Thai to get a “Fit for marriage” statement.

We legalised / stamped all documents at MRT in Khlong Toei.

My best guess is that the opening poster didn’t have a “Fit for Marriage” statement from his embassy.

I will be doing exactly this and book get an onward ticket the day before I leave. I already have a non-O visa, but I don’t want any hassle from the airlines.

There is no guarantee that the flight attendants at the departure airport know the rules of Thai visa and I just want peace of mind. To me, that is $16 well spent.
