yes, some parts is easier. Medical cert is one dr visit signing a piece of paper for things in some cases they can’t even test for. 🤣

The end run biggest difference is the OA is only for a limited time. Mine has lasted me two years. The O is infinite.

my Thai bank does not pay any real interest, especially including the fees they charge.

My US based bank paid 3x the amount of money in interest i paid for my required insurance. I calculating ONLY the amount required to be on deposit for a non O. Pretty much that cut and dry.

That interest money on deposit in a Thai bank would have been nonexistent. Where instead it paid my rent for a quarter. 👍

the cost of insurance is much cheap compared to interest lost in a Thai bank. 👍

but OA isn’t from inside and I thought it was a better deal for a period. 😎

Depends on which you want, Non OA, before. Non O after.

gotcha!

Yeah that status is something that’s applied for after a few years (3 I think?), pretty rare to get and expensive.

So much of this stuff is clear as a mud puddle.

I suspect for Americans Social Security is there primary funding source and Social Security is not taxable in Thailand.
