Apparently there were two borders in the Chiang Mai area which were insisting on an overnight stay, I don't know if it's still the case. The two I'm referring are those which generally over the years have been the "friendliest" which is Nong Khai and Chong Mek. In the good old days of the pre-insurance OA visa I used Chong Mek to get the second "free" year, and a drinking buddy of mine from Bangkok used it two weeks ago to "try out" the DTV bounce and it worked no problem with same day bounce. I read a report in another group that someone had done the same at Nong Khai, which is why I mentioned those two. No doubt we'll learn more when many DTVs reach their 180 day limit
If you enter Laos, you're leaving Thailand, which means your 180 days has finished. A new 180 day period starts the moment you return, irrespective of which date
I'm talking about CW, the biggest in the country. There's nothing in the rules to say it must be ONE transfer each month. I think you're being hoodwinked! 👍
The stipulation is 65k per calendar month. It doesn't necessarily have to be one payment of 65k but that makes life easier for the IO, so it's best not to upset them. When I started I was doing 2 x 33k which was acceptable, and one time the exchange rate changed before the money hit the bank account so it came through as
*****
, so I made another transfer of 200 to push it over the threshold. It was acceptable
