Also worth noting that you CAN'T complete the burmese evisa application without the registration number & street address of the Myanmar govt approved guesthouse. You CAN choose one through booking.com without prepayment. Feels mean to the Burmese GH tho who will get all hopeful of eating next week, only to be cancelled.

The normal turn around time for their evisa is 3 days. Last week we had a mix up re my Thai daughter travelling to Hpa-an with me. Although their website said Thai nationals dont need a visa, turned out that's only true for air travel. Stranded in Mae Sot with my visa sorted but not hers, we WERE able to "pay extra for express e visa". 3500 baht. It took about 5 hours. Not saying that's always possible but if you're stranded it's worth asking discreetly

W didn't. Just the form, her tabien baan and the copy of her ID was enough for CNX Imm. We did it just 3 months ago on her behalf. Took not even 10 mins.

We went on behalf of our landlord. She filled in the forms and gave us the signed copies of her tabien baan etc and we took it in for her as she doesn;t drive. Easy peasy.

And IMM are super nice & supportive of those of us walking this road. Nothing but praise for the new family extension officers.

Child support is not required or enforced in TH. But legally I have full, sole custody. Happy with that.

I go through it every 150 days cos I dont currently have the cash to hold at bank which is required for the annual extension. Not many solo mamas without financial support meet this condition. Its ok. Try to treat it is a welcome break. Grateful to be raising my daughter in TH. Sharing only to help someone else not get caught out without their lease handy.

Daytime. Both times late morning - sort of the post-brunch hour. Never seen it before either. I have lived in Chiang Mai almost 15 years.

Yes. Have been stopped twice in Old City Chiang Mai in recent weeks. On foot. Always carry my passport. Not a problem.

She's fine at some borders and only i she doesn't get caught. Chiang Mai currently having occasional street blockades and asking to see passports of everyone including pedestrians. It's an automatic ban if they catch you first.
