Mario De Mey I’m confused. You said you have a non-o so why would you come as a tourist?

Yep. Such a minor pain that damn form so I got an LTR-WP visa so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.

Apply for the LTR-WP 10-year visa if you qualify. >=$80K USD passive annual income and insurance. You can use Tricare as your insurance.

That’s normal for Bangkok bank and I assume it’s the same for all banks in Thailand. Or maybe they don’t charge a fee but give you a worse rate. Anyway, a lot of people unwise or Revlut or some other method because wire transfers are not economical for regular, relatively small amounts of money.

Terary Apellido the bank provides visa services? So immigration must provide banking services then. You’re getting played.

Although to be clear, I’ve never stayed in Thailand for a year consecutively. I’ve always taken vacations to neighboring countries so I guess I’ve never actually done a one-year report. But local immigration put a date card in the back of my passport so I showed up before that date and all they did was give me a new date card, one year out from my latest entry which rendered the previous date card out of date.

You walk into your local immigration office and tell them you’re doing your one year report. If, like me, they’ve never seen that visa before it’ll take a few extra minutes. Done. Of course if you’ve left the country and returned your year resets so you may never set foot in an immigration office again.

Steven Cameron Yep, I realize. But typing the visa name isn’t discussing it. And if you didn’t notice there was a lot of angst about Thai taxes and the LTR visa might solve that problem. Make sense?
