What are the best short-term extension options for a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand?

Hello. I’m currently on a Non-O based on retirement that expires next week. I asked in here earlier about extending my stay via an extension denial (7 days) and a request for a covid extension was recommended. I’ve just read somewhere else that covid extensions aren’t allowed for Non-O’s so I’m not sure if that is an option for me. Can someone recommend the best short term extension option that is not extending my Non-O? Thanks. And can that be obtained at a different Imm Office than my local one since I won’t be here? Thanks again.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on short-term extension options for their Non-O retirement visa, which expires soon. They've heard conflicting information about COVID extensions for this visa type and are looking for alternatives that don't involve extending their Non-O visa. Community members suggest visiting an immigration office to explore a 60-day extension based on specific circumstances, such as family visits or being unable to travel. Additionally, they mention the possibility of applying for a COVID extension but advise checking with the local immigration office due to varying interpretations of regulations.

This might be a dumb question, but why don't you simply extend your non-O retirement?

Covid extension scheme was revised to now include non-imm visas.

Best bet is to ask your immigration office if they will grant you one before the scheme finishes

You turned off commenting before I could reply.

You should read this post by Tod Daniels regarding covid extensions and Non-imm. Although each and every office will have it's own interpretation...

Also make an appointment for your next visit to immigration here. Print it off and take with.

I think that might be backwards. I did ask for a Covid extension and when she went in to check she came back and said I can’t because I’m on a Non-O. So I asked for a 7 day denial which she was going to give me but that would’ve been number 150 when they were on number 87. So I might give it another go tomorrow because I’m not sure I can get it from a different IMM Office.

Walk into an Immigration Office with your passport, explain why you want to stay longer than allowed and how long you like to stay. Ask them the possibities to obtain a legal stay for that period.

Only options available is:

60 Days Extension of Stay based on visiting family (if you're married of has children)

60 Day Extension of Stay based on being unable to travel

Application denied and 7 days to leave the country.
