I’m not really a Facebooker so pardon the question that has probably been asked before, I’m not sure where to look in the your files to find my answer.

I’m thinking about obtaining a retirement visa, the Non-Immigrant OA-Long Stay Visa, but have a few questions.

I will not live here full time, I will be enjoying the PNW during the rainy season here, and will be out of the country for more than 90 days at a time so maybe that visa is not the best option for me. However, when I am here I will travel to other counties so even a 90-day single visa is not a good option.

I’ll most likely come here twice a year for 60-120 days with multiple entries/exits each trip. What type of visa is my best option, oh great visa gurus?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering the Non-Immigrant OA-Long Stay Visa but is unsure if it suits their plans, as they will not live in Thailand full-time and anticipate being out of the country for over 90 days at a time. They plan to visit Thailand twice a year for 60 to 120 days with multiple entries. The comments indicate that the Non-Immigrant OA visa is a multiple-entry option that allows for a one-year stay, potentially making it a convenient choice for the user's travel plans.

Depending on where you stay in Thailand you may need to report to immigration each time you return to Thailand, within 24 hours of arrival.

Mae Taeng will be my home so I assume Chiang Mai Immigration but I haven’t dug into that yet. Needed to determine which visa to get first and now I know. 👍

The Non Immigrant O-A visa is a multiple entry visa and gives you on every entry 1 year of stay. Seeing your travel plans this is the most convenient option, you can stay your 60 to 120 days and travel around to other countries during the 1 year validity of the Visa.

Thanks for the great information.

Yes, your exit stamp proofs that you were less than 90 days inside the country, your entry date is day number 1 and you count yourself till day number 90.

And the stamping in and out verifies this to the gov’ment minders?
Robert *******
90 day report means that you have to report that you are 90 days inside the country, if you're less than 90 days inside the country you do not have to report.

Since there is a 90 day reporting period and I won’t be here won’t that be a problem? I’ll be building a house in Mae Taeng. I assume the nearest immigration office is Chiang Mai.
