Thanks for sharing Jeremy. Yes I think we should be ok, even if we don't get everything to their satisfaction first time

Thanks Kim. I went to Chiang Mai immigration today to get a list of things needed (photo's a bit blurry).

Just checked with the wife and she's updated the blue book, so it looks like we just need to update the Kor Ror 2 & should be good to apply in September 👍

Thanks Todd. I remember you saying before it was 2 months, so when this guy mentioned 3 months (he wasn't sure) I thought I best double check in case something has changed.

And if it's only 2 months then it looks like I won't need to do a border bounce, as the money was in my bank on July 1st and I have until September 26th on my stamp.

For the Kor Ror 2 update, can this be done at any amphur? We registered our marriage in Mae Rim but my wife is from Chom Thong and this is where she changed her name.

Thanks Tod, super helpful as always!

Good idea going to the immigration with the wife to get a list of requirements before applying, I didn't think of that. In Chiang Mai I could do that either at the immigration near the airport or the one at Central Festival, right? It's been a while since I've visited either of those.

I may do a border bounce to give me some more time. I actually really enjoyed my previous one at Chiang Saen. It's good to know that's an option at least.

Cheers!

No problem. I was going to write an update when I arrived in Mukdahan (currently on the bus crossing over). The good news is I got the 1 year visa. I didn't have a letter from my wife and they didn't call her to check, so everything went as planned. Perhaps I was just lucky to have gone yesterday rather than today

I'm hopeful of getting it but definitely won't take anything for granted until I see it stamped in my passport. I'll let you know either way

I did mine yesterday morning. They said "Where's your wife?" and I said Chiang Mai and it wasn't an issue. Haven't collected my passport yet though

Also, one thing I didn't realise until recently is that you can also pay $10 instead of 500 baht when you get the stamp in Myanmar. I did it last month, no problem
