I'm going to apply for a Non O multiple entry visa based on marriage in Savannakhet. A few questions before I make the trip:

1. Is it a good idea to fill out this application form from their website before hand to save time, or is it better to fill out the form that is supplied at the Thai consulate (perhaps the form at the consulate is different/more up to date than the online form for example)?

2. Do I just write: "Multiple Entry" in the top left and give the 5,000 baht, as there doesn't appear to be anywhere to request that on the form?

3. Permanent address: My current Thai address, or my home address in the UK?

4. Purpose of visit: Usually I put tourism, but as I'm married now and applying for the marriage visa, do I just write "marriage"?

5. Name/address of a guarantor in Laos/Thailand. For Laos I was going to put my hotel. For Thailand should I put my wife's name & address?

Thanks.

Okay and on that note, we're done,

The processing time is TWO business days (counting the day you apply) <- meaning you apply one morning between 9-11 am and you pick your passport up the next business day after 1PM

If apply friday you get the passport back monday afternoon..

If you people can't figure out how to get a visa at the easiest thai consulate in S/E Asia to get one at maybe it's time to re-evaluate your life choices. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜‰

This isn't brain science or rocket surgery.

ONE final thing if you can AVOID Mondays and Wednesdays <- those are the days that the visa run companies from Pattaya and Bangkok show up there.

You show up on a tuesday or a thursday you should be okay crowd wise

I didn't fill out anything I just go to the place across the street from the embassy and give them the copy of marriage license, 2 photos, copy of the house book, and they fill out the forms for you, put together the whole packet for 200 baht no problem takes them less than 15 min. You need to be there early in the morning to apply for the visa, and pick up in the afternoon the next day. I like to go on Tuesday or Wednesday, if you are over 60 they will usually come out and pull you out of line and take you to another window so you don't have to wait so long. I know a Aussie that takes crutches and they get to him right away.

I did the marriage visa Non O one year ago. Arrived on a Thursday with a Thai holiday on Friday. We had a Thai Passport on my Thai wife's 11 year old Ford Ranger Wildtrak. We both had international drivers licenses from the Thai transport office in Loei. There was no line at the border and the price was way cheaper with $40 US for the Visa for US citizens. We went to the consulate on Thursday morning and we were the only ones there. We had completed the online form and had all documents copied and ready to hand over to the consulate. The lady said to come back at 10 AM on Monday to pick up my passport with the multi entry Non O marriage visa. I gave 5000 baht in cash and requested a receipt for the 5000 baht and this was provided after a bit of discussion. The reason is that we were planning to drive to Pakse in the south of Laos for the long weekend. We were at the Thai consulate for less than 10 minutes and we took off for the long drive to Pakse. The road wad paved but full of deep potholes so the going was slow. Halfway, we passed a police Checkpoint. Lucky that our car papers were in order with insurance for Laos. The passport receipt from the Thai consulate came in handy because the police wanted to see my passport and Laos visa which was at the consulate in Savannakhet. We fortunately had a photocopy of my passport and a photo of my Laos visa in my phone which was also helpful. We made it about half way to Pakse the first night and stayed in a hotel on the highway. The next day we made it to our hotel in Pakse. We spent two nights there and made day trips to see the Tad Fane dual waterfalls and zipline which was the highlight of our holiday. We wanted to see the waterfall further south on the Mekong but we were enjoying the shopping in Pakse at the market which is amazing. We had a very memorable vacation in Southern Laos. The prices for everything was cheaper than Thailand and the Laos people were just great! There was a PTT gas station to fill up the deisel on the truck.

If I don't get my marriage visa extension in Phuket from that visa that expired on August 10, i will go back to Savanahkeht and do it again! (Got 90 day stamp in Ranong by going to Burma and back on long tail boat on July 27)
